WOLF 317101 Stackables Series Large Jewelry Box, White

I knew that this jewelry box was made in China from the previous review, but decided to try it out anyway as many modern products are now manufactured there. I had seen this exact Wolf jewelry box design in the white color on other websites and was excited that I could get it at a discount with free Amazon Prime shipping. It was a birthday present so I was especially thrilled when it arrived.My excitement was very short-lived. The box was packaged well (both sold and fulfilled by Amazon), larger than expected, nice clean bright white with a well-made snap closure. Then I opened the box. The lift-out top tray had fallen down on one side and was jammed into the bottom section of the jewelry box, just as the previous reviewer had described. I immediately realized that the problem was a serious and fatal flaw in either the box design, craftsmanship, or both. The problem is the side rails that the top tray is supposed to rest on are much too narrow, only 0.25" each. Since the lift-out top tray doesn't have tabs and thus is 5/8" smaller than the box, there is only a 0.125", one EIGHTH of an inch, of railing for the tray to rest on (so 1/16th of an inch on each side!) This is completely inadequate to keep the top tray from falling down into the bottom of the box. And this is WITHOUT the weight of any jewelry in the top tray!! It is utterly unusable as a jewelry box.I have informed Amazon and they are taking the box back at no cost to myself. I don't know if the poor workmanship/design is just this model, or a problem with Wolf jewelry boxes as a whole. While there are many types of Wolf boxes offered on Amazon, most are not reviewed. As the previous reviewer noted, even though stickers on the jewelry box clearly stated that the box was made in China, ironically a product description notecard inside the box touted the Wolf brand's traditions of quality design and construction in Germany, Sweden and England!I hope that this flawed jewelry box is corrected soon, but meanwhile BUYER BEWARE! If you decide to take a chance, be sure to buy only through Amazon with free shipping and free returns.
