Alpine Swiss Zach Men’s Wool Blend Overcoat – Knee-Length Trench Coat, Runs Large for Layering Over Suits or Sweaters

Honestly, This coat exceeded my expectations. Many buyer wrote size is bit too large which wasn't true in my experience. I am 5 foot 10 inch tall and ordered medium size and it fits me perfectly. Coat is warm and made out of fairly good material. inner side could be made with better material but considering the price i believe this is good enough. There are 3 pockets inside and all of them are deep enough to put wallet, mobile phone or even a passport. Two outside pocket also deep enough to put your hands inside in case it's too cold outside. I would suggest you to order true size rather focusing on wrong reviews of others.

First off I realize that ordering clothes on line is always a gamble in size, fit and quality. I really like this trench coat but it does run way too large. I have a 44" chest and a 36" waist and I normally wear a large size coat or jacket. I read the reviews and even the description which clearly states that this coat runs large see sizing chart. I reviewed the sizes on the chart and decided to order a medium size. I really like the looks and feel of the jacket. I knew that it was not 100% wool because that is also described in the description. This coat was only $34.99 and I believe that it is well worth the price. Is it perfect no, It had a lot, and I mean a lot of threads that needed to be trimmed. To me the threads were no big deal and easy to solve. I read other reviews where this was a big deal to others and they though it was poorly made and falling apart. I assure it is well made and is not falling apart. This is probably why this coat is so low in cost, lack of final quality control. With that being said, I really like the coat design and look. I did however notice a flaw in the material on the left front upper chest area. At first I thought is was just dirty but after I spot treated it, it was still there so I believe it is a flaw in the material. Because of that and it being too big, I chose to send it back with Amazon's free return, which is a great bonus for ordering clothes online. I re-ordered this coat in a small size in hopes that it will be a better fit for me. I will update this review when the re-ordered coat arrives.Follow up:The small size coat arrived today and it is a PERFECT fit. Just like it was tailored just for me. I can't believe I can fit in a small jacket again. That hopefully will tell you how far off the sizing is on these coats. It is really a nice coat and is most definetly a keeper. I also just changed my rating on this coat from 4 stars to 5 stars.

If you are looking for a "bulky" over coat, then look no more! My husband loves this coat. I personally think it looks "bulky" & not very flattering (however, it doesn't look "sloppy" either) - but what do I know. He loves that it fits over his suit coats & he has room. He loves that he can wear it with his sweaters & sweatshirts & he still feels like he can move. And, that it keeps him warm.I will say, it's well constructed & that it can be dressed up & dressed down. The fabric is a bit funky. It doesn't look like wool, but it doesn't look cheap either (we purchased black so you really have to look close). Overall, for the price, you can't beat this coat. My husband loves it & that's all that matters to me.

This coat is well worth the price! It arrived as scheduled, perfect in time for a trip to NYC. The size is nice and roomy and the quality of the coat is amazing. I would definitely recommend!

I wanted a general every day coat.Not as big as advertised. I normally wear a 2x and ordered a 1x. It fit but with little room to spare. I like the fabric and knee length.Could be worn as an overcoat for a suit, but to me its shines as an everyday winter coat. Well insulated.

I'm 5'6" 190 and got a small grey from the reviews that they run large and wanted it to fit well over suit jacket but it doesnt fit over the jacket well at all. I kept the grey as its nice and will wear as casual coat or with shirt and tie. So I figured I'll go up a size to a M and get a blue to go over the suit jacket and the same thing it just bunches the shoulders up. To return and get a L it will probably look like a blimp on me so will see if going to keep it. On the positive I got a good deal on a full L Rainforest raincoat and it fits fine over the suit jacket and looks great.

This is a great coat for the price. It is well made and has a decently thick lining for insulation. As is mentioned it does run large; I normally wear 2xl so I ordered this coat in XL and it fits well with a little room for a sweater or hoodie for additional layer if needed.

It's a very nice looking coat, I normally wear a large, so when it said to order one size smaller because they run big, so I did, thinking it would fit, but this medium size is medium, and is to small on me, so, I tried to send it back, got the prepaid label and packed it up to send back,but I have no way to drop this off at a ups station , and asked Alpine Swiss to arrange a pick-up from ups, they sent me a link to ups , I filled out everything and now they want to charge me to pick it up, don't know why I should have to pay to return this coat if it's the wrong size thru no fault of my own, I was going to send it back and order a large, but now it looks like I'm stuck with it, so, I'll just shop some place else from now on.

I am very disappointed in the service from Amazon.This item was good quality but too large. The guidelines for sizes are completely wrong. The size I ordered was recommended based on my husband’s previous orders but it was excessively larger.When he looked at it again, it recommended yet an even larger size!!When I came to return the item to exchange for smaller size, I discovered I have to return it to the USA!The item arrived very quickly when I ordered it, so it would seem to arrive from UK.I would think therefore it could be returned to a UK address. Instead I have to pay £29 to return it to the USA!It has caused me a huge amount of stress at Christmas, as this coat was a special gift for my husband.At this time I have spent all this money and have no gift.

I bought this to fit over top of a roman cassock. I would normally wear an XXL over regular clothes, but ordered an XL as I read the coat runs quite large. I am glad I sized down, XL fits perfectly over the cassock. The coat is warmer than I expected and quite soft. Very happy with this purchase, a great price too!
