Great for a beginner like myself
Recently started doing a bit of yoga and Pilates and this book has been great to get me started, detailed pictures and descriptions from beginner level and what looks like more advanced poses. Highly recommend it!!

Not right for me
Far too much in this book for a start. If I was pregnant or had kids, I would get a book for pregancy or for children, not this.There is an overkill of stuff, but I could not find what I needed. Some of the sequences given seemed insanely advanced, or else not all that well detailed so you would need to keep going back to the sections about the individual asanas before really using them. Then you're justs having to jump all over the book which I hoped to avoid.A huge number of props and awkward looking poses, such as one that requires you put a block of wood beneath your bum and balance your whole weight on it. I didn't spot guidelines on the exact size of this wood. It looked dangerous- dont slip and flip the wood sideways and fall on it! You could instead use 5 blocks of foam, again, no measurements.Loads of complex moves using chairs, stools, etc.The models are clearly very expert but why does the guy only wear skimpy tight short shorts? The female model is always fully and appropriately dressed. I just find it uncomfortable looking at a mainly naked guy the whole time, especially when he is grasping right into his own bum. The same pose by the female model she just had her hand on her buttock, no grasping! Maybe he is demonstrating perfect form, I don't know, but couldja please be a little less comfortable with your body for those of us looking!Its too complicated to look through for my needs. This will not be true for everyone. I was looking for some fairly simple laid out sequences, it can get harder and more complex but first just something nice and easy to follow. I have done lots of yoga in the past and just need to be reminded- with simple clear illustrated routines.Finally, it was not expensive as second hand, but to return it would cost £2.79, meaning I only get £5 back. Not worth it. So I am just giving it to charity. Lost the money. I hope someone else finds it more bearable than I did.
