Well made, high quality brush. Doesn't fit Apollo stand properly.
This is my second brush, the first was a very cheap one. That being said, the quality of this brush is very nice, seemingly on par with some of the high-end brushes I looked at at the extraordinarily over-priced Art-of-Shaving, but this one is at least half the price. Over the course of the first few weeks I lost about 15 hairs, and now I lose one every now and then. This seems a little high compared to some of the other reviews for this and other higher-end brushes but it is not really noticeable since this thing really has a ton of great silver tip hairs! The overall finish and material is top notch and the weight is very nice.I have one major complaint. I purchased this along with the Apollo shaving stand and it DOES NOT FIT!! When you put it on the stand, the small diameter of the handle is just slightly larger than the opening so it sits askew, rather than fitting nice and flush as I would expect from a product from the same company. This seems like a minor complaint but, c'mon, how stupid is it that your brush doesn't fit your stand? My cheap brush fit's nicely, but this one doesn't. I don't get it. The quality of both is quite nice so I will just live with a crooked hanging brush. Someone was really asleep at the switch on this one. I would be giving this 4+ stars if it just fit correctly in the stand. See pics.

A review after a year of use.
A pet peeve of mine; is reading reviews of a product and the purchaser really hasn't used the product. Statements like: "I just got it. I'm sure it will be great. Looking forward to my first use. My (insert person receiving gift) will love it".I bought this brush one year ago (3/27/17) and have used it between 2-4 times a week every week.Pros:- The brush head is big and the balance between firmness and softness of the bristles is, in my opinion, awesome.- My first brush was a boar bristle (the one with the white and red handle) and it stunk like a wet animal for about three weeks of use. This one only had the faintest of smell and it wasn't offensive. Within a 2-3 uses; the smell was the soap I used.- Metal handle. It astounded me, in my search for a high quality Silver tip badger brush, how many had plastic handles and wanted in excess of $100. It was akin to wearing Harris Tweed with Crocs. I'm older now and more successful in my career and I want to indulge in some more luxuries in my life. I'm an accountant though and it's just ingrained in me to find value. If you want over $100 from me; that handle better be luxury. It better be made of sizable metal, antler, horn, bone, marble, jade, etc.I want to address some comments of other reviews:-Are badgers being killed to get this hair? Yes. But just like the Chickens and Geese feathers that make their way into your pillows, the cow hide that finds it's way into your shoe or belt, the meat is eaten. If this upsets you; I wont judge you, you do the same. There are plenty of synthetics out there.- Loss of hair from the brush. That I was able to visually notice, over the year, I would say probably about 2-3 dozen hairs were witnessed removed from the handle. Some of the reviews will say "just a few". The reality is probably some multiple of what you actually see. I'll guess 5-6. So for me I wouldn't doubt I've lost somewhere between 100-150 hairs from the brush over the year. The brush still has a good amount of bristles and I can absolutely see five years of use before replacing the head. My old boar bristle brush lasted ten years and I can absolutely see this lasting as long. The next nine years will reveal the truth.

The Shaving Brush of the Gods!
I decided to treat myself to a Silvertip badger brush. Silvertip Badger for those of you who don't know is the highest grade of badger hair that you can get in a brush. After looking at several offerings here on Amazon many of them were well over $100, however there were a couple that were in the $50 to $80 range this brush from Apollo quality shaving products was such however before deciding to settle on the Apollo shaving brush I decided to compare it to other brushes in its price range. The other brushes offered by GBS or Slate despite looked good and were of a comparable price, but not reviewed anywhere near as favourably as compared to the Apollo Silvertip quality shaving brush. Not to mention the Apollo shaving brush has a oversized 24 millimeter Loft, compared to otherd which were 22mm. I also noticed that the Apollo shaving brush came highly recommended with a user feedback rating of roughly 92% (combined 4 and 5 ratings) which is almost unheard of it when reviewing Amazon products unkess it is a REALLY good product, whereas the others weren't quite as favorably reviewed. I decided to place my order and since I have Amazon Prime I was eligible for free 2-day shipping I received the brush yesterday and was more than impressed when I got it the brush. It is without question Silvertip and is adorned with a large, beautiful steel handle, that also bears the Apollo logo, but is a little bit heavy which is fine because I prefer it this way. I soaked the brush prior to shaving and it puffed up as expected showing that this brush is not only packed very well but it's made from only the highest quality of Silvertip Badger hair. Coming in at a price of only $50 this brush is quite honestly a steal for the price and will readily match any brushes in the $100 range the difference of course being that some of those brushes are either luxury name brand or have handles made from luxury materials. In conclusion this brush is quite honestly the perfect shaving brush it's an inexpensive brush, is ultra high-quality and will definitely last you the shaver for a very long time and whip up an excellent quality lather, if you want to buy it, don't think about it and buy it!
