RX-LOX-PM Pack Mount Lock

In my experience the name "RotopaX" is synonymous with "high quality & toughness". When I decided to switch to a lockable pack mount for the spare gas pack on my Polaris RZR there was no question what brand I would purchase. The mounts are easy to install and use and they just get the job done time after time. I know this sounds like a RotopaX commercial but they have well earned the accolades I am presenting herein.

I read plenty of reviews about these Rotopax locks both on Amazon and off, noting the positives and what some have perceived and experienced as negatives. I took the plunge and ordered a pair for my two 2-gallon cans, fabricated a pair of steel mounting plates to fit a Baja Rack roof rack with a 5" rail, and mounted them to the plates. Once everything was mounted and I figured out not to lock the cans down too tightly, these locks have worked great. I keep them clean and oiled with a bit of Tri-Flow, they've come through without a hitch after heavy rains and snows, with no binding with the pins or cylinders. A great design, materials and operations, I'd buy them again!

These work great, and come with all hardware to mount. Only issue I have is the locks after awhile do not work smooth. I have to fight to get them unlocked. May need to lube them up somehow.

Yes it holds the Rotopax gas cans. Yes it secures it without rattle. Yes it feels well constructed with good materials. Yes the lock seems legit secure and works great. Yes the design is pretty cool and unique way to remove or secure your gas cans. The flaw is in the MOUNTING solution. Left me scratching my head, "why". So the whole locking + holder is mounted to your rack, ladder, swingout, etc..... buuuuut, the nuts and bolts are in the open (?). Sooooo, all one needs is a pair of pliers or expandable wrenches to remove the entire mount plus Rotopax. 😕 Maybe should have porvided security bolts and tools instead of the common nuts and bolts? Ehh, guess that jack the price up too. They're kind of pricey already. I'll come up with my own security mount to replace it. Overall, it's necessary if you're going with Rotopax.

The locking mounts work great, they don’t move at all during driving. They’re very easy to pull off and refuel. The cans fit nice and tight and they were easy to install on my bed rack. Worth the price.

I used it with Built Right bed racks and a 3 gallon rotopax gas can. Works awesome. It's a little pricey and hard to find, but worth it. I wish there was a way to order a couple of these with the same lock cylinder keying.

I have a couple of these on my Jeep for gas and water cans. They work well. I’m not worried about anything falling off.
