theBalm - Meet Matt(e) Nude Eyeshadow Palette

This eye shadow palette is the best quality that I have experienced ever. The colors of Meet Matt Nude are wonderful and true. I am honestly so impressed by the quality, the creamy eye shadow, the way it goes on, the color pay off. Much much better quality even than Urban Decay. I highly recommend this palette for a mix of warm and cool shades. The packaging is gorgeous and amusing. I am more than delighted with this palette-worth every penny. You can play around with all these shades and be surprised with the outcomes and they look spectacular on the eyelid. No flaking whatsoever. I like the white shade that you can mix with the gorgeous grey (never seen a grey so rich and creamy before) and the shades are so uncommon. Wow. I love this palette and I had so much fun applying the different colors. No need even to use a color base. These shades go on ultra smooth and blend very very well. I cannot say enough good things about this palette. The packaging is sexy and elegant. Buy this palette. I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These eyeshadows wear incredibly well and just stick on your lids and blend so well.They are literally so pigmented and buttery that I was shocked when I put them on for the first time. Even with very high end eyeshadows I expect to have to pack on a few times to get a decent color payoff but I put on one layer of each color and they were basically opaque on my tan skin! They don't feel chalky, powdery, or uncomfortable to wear, I feel like I'm not wearing heavy eye makeup with this on. These are also HUGE and I can use the white and yellow as matte highlight colors and the darker browns to do my brows and maybe even contour my face if I'm in a crunch without being afraid of running out. It has a good mix of cool and warm colors and a good mix of light, midtone, and dark colors. You could complete an eye look (inner corner highlight, base, crease, brow highlight, liner) with just this palette which is extremely rare. The packaging is very sturdy and the design is oh so cute (definitely something to show your friends). The strong magnetic closure makes it good for travel. Best, most versatile make-up purchase I've ever made and the seller shipped so fast I thought I chose one day shipping on accident! I bought it for a little over $20. I'm not sure if that is a sale price for this seller but I know elsewhere this palette would cost around $40 so keep in mind that might affect my review a little. For $20 I couldn't even buy 9 single drugstore matte eyeshadows and they would not perform as well since these shadows perform better than the mid and high-end eyeshadows I own. Even for $40 dollars though, although I would have been more reluctant to purchase, I would have found it to be completely well worth it and better than any other high end palette purchase for mattes.

I'm a total eyeshadow junkie, and this is one of my favorite palettes that I own (and I own quite a few). I love the matte colors--they're pigmented, great quality, and have virtually no fallout. I think the shades would look good on any skin tone. The palette is about the size of a CD case and really thin, so it's great for travel. The mirror is a nice touch. The eyeshadow pans are large and I'm sure this product will last me a long, long time. My only complaint is that the white shadow included is too white; an ecru shade, or a creamier white, would have made this palette perfect. (It's so white, I can't use it under my browbone as a highlight). I have to reach for another off-white highlight shade when I use this palette, which is slightly annoying. Along with the 3 Naked palettes, this is an amazing addition to an eyeshadow collection. There isn't another totally matte palette out there that could top this one.

TheBalm matte palette was one of the first "all matte" eye shadows I purchased (once you hit 40, time to switch to mattes and leave the shimmer for highlighting). The individual colors in this palette are quite opaque and murky but.....when you blend them together before applying and shake your brush really well, you can create buildable custom shades. They can be a bit chalky so apply with a light hand. Not a fan of the packaging (don't care for the cardboard).

Horrible very pricey product! The first time the mirror arrived broken! So I asked for replacement. It arrived promptly, the second time I tried the eye shadows a couple times, nothing stellar - for that price!- plus the pigments don’t last past noon, again “for that price! “ I returned it asking for a refund…it’s been more than 3 weeks already and the item arrived at the center but still no refund! I do not recommend this product AT ALL!!!!

I saw this eye shadow pallet on YouTube last year being used and reviewed and finally broke down to purchase when I realized I didn't want to shell out $50+ on the UD Naked pallets. Also I don't have many matte eye shadows in my makeup collection so this seemed like a good choice. Well I got my Meet Matte Nude a couple of days ago and tried it out yesterday with a very beyond satisfied result. First, I received a real Balm product... Not a fake. The colors are rich, smooth, highly pigmented just like what it was described as by the YouTube reviewers. A little does go a long way and the shadow pots are huge, meaning you get a lot of product making the $20 I spent at a discount totally worth the money and then some. Compared to shimmery or pearl finish shadows, matte shadows just give your eyes that glamorous pop of color and sophistication. Matte nude pallet is great for use for work or a fancy outing or even daytime looks. Great size for travel and it has a large mirror. Highly recommend the Balm eye shadows and very happy to have purchased.

Packaging: The Balm's packaging is always totally quirky and adorable, so they get major points for having a sense of humor and being super creative. I believe it's made out of thin, hard cardboard, but it's very sturdy and super travel friendly (and I assume environment friendly as well). Formula: Super soft and easy to blend. Highly pigmented. Favorite colors: "Matt Singh" gets extra love because it is a nice shade to blend out colors in the crease and into my skin tone. I also enjoy using "Matt Abdul," a medium gray, with "Matt Hung" a dark purple/gray. Super pretty! Overall, I feel like this is a great value. These eyeshadows may be HUGE, but they are all essential basics (look at all those browns!) that you can use to create a daytime look or smoke out for a darker nighttime look. And who can resist the packaging!?

I've read some reviews for TheBalm products here on Amazon (including this one) where the reviewer thought the item was a fake. I did some research on this palette and I definitely think it's the real thing. It's a really awesome palette. The shades are all very pretty, very pigmented, and will work well with many other shades in my huge collection. There's not a color in here that isn't wearable. Every shadow is super buttery and soft, and blends like a dream. I really can't say enough good things about these lovely shadows! They are super soft, and a bit powdery, so I could caution people to be careful; you don't need a lot (very pigmented!) and you should be careful with your brushes not to kick up too much powder. I did not notice any fall out. I wished the seller had sent the item in something more sturdy than a padded envelope, but the palette survived ok. If you're looking for some great matte shades, look no further!
