Great stool for backpacking big guy
I'm a big guy who likes to backpack. This isn't the lightest seat, but it is really not that heavy. It sets up and takes down easy. It's very durable. The base is a little narrow, but I never had any trouble staying upright on uneven ground or after a cocktail. The seat is nice and high, so putting on boots was easy. It even doubles as a small table if needed. No complaints at all.

The Byer of Maine Tri-lite folding campstool is tallest found.
Seems sturdy, constructed of good quality materials, the sitting height when deployed is adequate. I found it somewhat unstable on any uneven surfaces due to the minimal amount the supporting legs will extend, but with care it remains useable. Light weight and packs into a small container size when disassembled for travel. Longevity to be determined later.

Comfortable and sturdy
Very comfortable and sturdy. Easy to set up. A bit heavy as it is wider and higher than typical camp chairs, but worth it.

A little heavy and not very steady
This is well built but it is heavier than expected. It is a bit unsteady. It is hard to put the seat on too.

Small but solid portable stool!
Great balance of stability, packability and weight. I’m a big guy. 6’2 and 240lbs. This never feels fragile. I use it for photography when I set up a low angle camera shot and need to wait for the clouds or sun to move into the right position. Straps onto my backpack. Works great.

Quality Control Issue! Beware of unsecured legs!
BAD quality control issue here making the product unsafe! It arrived in an undamaged box so it was not damaged during shipping. I opened the inner box and assembled the stool for the first time...BUT two of the legs are missing screws to anchor them to the middle plastic connection where the legs pivot (see picture). The interesting thing is that one of the legs did have its screw anchoring it in place...so just poor quality control making the stool unsafe to use since these legs just flop around. It does make me wonder if the screws are really sturdy enough and secure enough to support the claim that it is "strong enough to hold 275 pounds".

Folds compact, difficult to setup, wobbly
This stool folds very compact and has a nice bag for storage. Stretching the seat to snap in place between the arms is difficult, and I have resorted to getting it lined up on the floor and stepping on it to get it to stretch that last bit and pop in place. With use it may stretch out a bit and get easier. The legs do not lock in the open position, and it can get very tipsy very quickly if they are not spread all the way. Leaning to the sides also causes the arms to flex around, leaving you to wonder if it is going come apart (it never did).It is a clever design but probably left best for temporary use, like when you need an extra seat in the camper to accommodate guests.
