Well made and effective
Taiwanese made, sharp and strong as all get-out, and it's neither too heavy nor too bulky. It's more than capable of serving the purpose I bought it for (nibbling styrene) but just to test it out, I was able to cut through a soda can like butter as well.

worked great for Guitar frets
worked great for Guitar frets. I sanded a groove with an angle file so they would lie flatter. (do it with the tool closed so you can use the top of the cutter as a fence). It cut with very little effort. a small amount of finish filing needed. I assume the SMac $150 version is better. But if your just doing a guitar for yourself. This worked a treat.

For 0.020 and up
The tool does what it is described to do and is well made. I did not notice that this is for 0.020 and up material. I am a tool and die maker and make shims daily that include far thinner material. I had to take mine apart and alter the trim edge with weld to tighter tolerance so I can cut 0.005.

Cuts Clean and Straight Across 1/16" Thick Aluminum
This nibbler works great. I have a 3" wide (76.2mm) strip of 1/16" thick (1.6mm) aluminum that I needed to cut into 3" x 1" pieces. I started to use a Dremel tool with a cutting wheel, but I knew that would result in an ugly, not straight cut. I looked up how to cut metal sheets, and discovered "nibblers": kinds that are electric, kinds that are pneumatic, and hand-operated kinds like this one. Although I was skeptical that this inexpensive hand-operated nibbler could do a good job, and I worried that my material was slightly thicker than the specifications suggested the nibbler could handle, I didn't want to pay the higher price for an electric or pneumatic one. So, I took a chance on this one, and it was a good decision. I was able to cut very straight, clean cuts 3" across the 1/16" thick aluminum strip in less than 3 minutes per cut. I don't even need to file or sand the edges. It's a bit tedious because you only remove about 1/32" (.8mm) of material with every squeeze of the handle, but for the price, this tool just can't be beat. Bonus: it's made in Taiwan, not China.

Good old tool I had almost forgotten, saved the day
Many years ago we used a nibbler in high school, when they had shop classes. Cut holes, notches or whatever. Recently I had a project where I needed to cut a square hole in plastic. Dremel melted the plastic and those little blades shatter and went somewhere. Tried a hand saw but getting a straight line wasn't happening. Then I think one of the prices of that Dremel disk must have hit me in the head and shook loose those ancient memories. This thing worked perfect, just nibble a little at a time, like it should. Well I've used it several times now and I'm very glad I got it.

Thin material bite
Very thin bite. Did not work for me. Looks and feels well made but for thin material.

Good tool for difficult applications
I used one of these tools back in the 60's and was delighted to find this one. I use it to cut a rectangular opening in a small plastic kit assembly. Take a look at the photo, that will say it all. I've removed most of the plastic and I'll use a file to remove the remaining, rough, edges. Gppd Luck.

Funktioniert super!
Ich knipse damit, an den Bundenden, Kerben in Edelstahl -Bunddraht; funktioniert super. Ich musste allerdings, vorher, einen kleinen Schlitz in die Kopfplatte feilen, damit es passt. Günstiger bekommt man keinen Fret-Tang-Nipper.

If you're looking to mod GEM blades, this is for you
Bought to mod GEM blades for another razor. Works a treat. Would be perfect for converting AC blades to injector size, too.
