Does battery pack have to stay attached when using

Yes the battery pack does have to stay attached when using the drill. It provides the power this drill is using. It will not work without a battery attached to it. Hope this helps

I was just comparing this one with Black & Decker LD120VA 20-Volt MAX Lithium-Ion Drill/Driver with 30 Accessories? Of course the accessories are more on this one. Appreciate any advice.

Buy the Black & Decker BDCDMT120 20-Volt MAX Lithium-Ion Matrix Cordless Drill instead - much more versatile and cheaper as well. I bought this Black & Decker LD120VA 20-Volt MAX Lithium-Ion Drill/Driver with 30 Accessories and sold it after I realized all the tools included were junky versions of things I already had. You can buy these accessories for very little money on Black Friday or even regular pricing at local stores. This enclosure is just an empty shell and the drill motor had no supports or way of organizing anything. Your charger and drill motor are free to slide around inside along with whatever else you decide to throw in there.

What is the charge time for the battery?

Based on the instructions, I recharge after every use. After 7-8 hours of working on my current remodeling project, it usually recharges in 2-3 hours depending on how much it was used that day. I use a separate, smaller drill for the pilot holes and use this drill to drive the 3" screws into 2x4s as a point of reference. I never run out of power over a day, but it would still not be a bad idea to get the extra battery.

Is this drill reversible?

Yes and the torque is adjustable.
