After buying I learned that aquilegia are difficult to grow from seed (might explain why they’re so expensive in the garden centre!). I planted them along with other variety seeds, and was on the verge of giving up as all others had spouted and grown leaf. Then bingo! A few have started to pop up. Patience pays off!

I decided to sew these seeds and I’m an old hand at gardening, growing seeds etc. However, out of the entire packet of these beautiful seeds, only one grew! Gutted. Maybe they’re old stock?

I've only just sown these but the germination rate is good and the seeds sprouted quickly. Looking forward to the finished product.
