Justin Hayes is richly blessed. He grew up the son of a preacher and a school teacher, and like most boys in the rural South, he grew up hunting and fishing. He earned his money in the tobacco and hay fields surrounding his home, and joined his senior class in the jungles of Vietnam. After returning home he married his high school sweetheart and raised a fine son. But being blessed doesn't mean that life is easy. He worked as a lineman for the power company and was always available to help his neighbors on their farms. His wife suddenly left him for a rich man when his son was ten years old, so he was left with a son to raise by himself. But now that was all behind him. Having inherited forty-three acres of land in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains, Justin retired and moved to his new property looking forward to spending his remaining years enjoying God's creation and relaxing in his new home. Unbeknownst to Justin, he had just moved into the center of a hornet's nest--a nest filled with lies and corruption, an evil neighbor, and a crooked sheriff. A nest that was under surveillance and monitored twenty-four hours a day. A nest that has ties to terrorism and organized crime with the most wretched and evil people who have ever walked the earth. Not being someone to back down from a fight, Justin digs his heels in for the fight of his life, but he is not alone. Before this fight is over, the SBI, FBI, Homeland Security, CIA, and even the Pentagon line up behind him to defeat this monster. He will need all the skills he acquired in Vietnam, plus help and guidance from the Almighty to defeat this enemy. It showed potential early on…
The bones of this story were solid, especially early on. The thing that drove me mad was the constant misspellings and poor grammar. If I’m paying you for a book, get a good proof-reader. Also, the chapters didn’t have good division points. You’d go from one scene to the next without a clear line of demarcation. Towards the end, the story got a little far fetched and amateurish, but I was already invested and momma didn’t raise a quitter. I had high hopes early on - especially because it is centered in Ashe County, NC (one of my favorite places on earth) - but I was underwhelmed by the time I reached the end.

Good
I really enjoyed this book except the lack of section breaks. It can be very confusing when there ared not any transition points in the narration.

Action from cover to cover.
I might be biased lol. I am the authors son. Having said that this book was an amazing read. It combines everything I loved as child from 80 action flicks like Rambo, Die Hard, and Roadhouse. Great action both shooting and fighting, amazing scenery in the mountains of NC, and an underdog fighting against all odds. My father is not a professional author which makes this book an underdog story before page 1. He had a desire to write and so against all odds he created this amazing story and now I'm writing a review of it on Amazon. God is Good. If you like action stories then I highly recommend this.

A simple minded book
There is more character development to the gun descriptions than the people. Every good guy is an expert martial artist, a Pilar of moral integrity and their women are beautiful. The bad people are alcoholics, drug addicted or lacking morality. A simpleminded book of no redeeming value.
