The Pleasures Of Loving God: A call to accept God's all-encompassing love for you

Wonderful. This book gives a new understanding of how God sees us. One of the greatest thoughts the book mentions is that, once we are born again, God delights in us even in our stumbling. Not that He approves, but He still delights in us (which is a deep bondage breaker). The book points toward having a relationship with God where He becomes our "bridegroom" and we can have a deep intimate relationship with Him in which we are WHOLLY delighted and TOTALLY satisfied (which kills temptation.) Some may say that being wholly satisfied and delighted in God is only an ideal, but I have a friend that recently has been experiencing a depth of God that I never imagined, and is presented in this book. The only reason I gave the book four stars is that I felt it could have been more in depth, and could have been a little more scholarly. Overall though, the message that is portrayed has given me a deep hunger for intimacy with Jesus.

The first third of the book was encouraging in our relationship with the Lord and how He view us! I loved it. I was great to read the last half about the prayer movement and harp and bowl worship. Mike wrote this one year into IHOPKC. Now 16 years later it is wonderful to see where this all sprung from.

Having a relationship with the Lord and knowing His love for us is Amazing. Wonderful book!!

Having read and re-read this excellent and highly-recommended book I have been sharing it with others and am now co-leading a small group study with my wife using it. Life changing! (or as Mike puts it - it will change your emotional chemistry - i.e. your heart, your thought life, your prayer life, your lifestyle)

Finally,a book about God and Christ that focuses more on LOVE rather than "musts",and fear,etc,etc.It has helped me to feel much closer to God and to Christ than most any other book.
