Warm and cute!
We are back with Sarah and Brett yay!!! I really loved them and their group of friends in Dream a Little Dream, so I was excited to read about them again.I enjoyed reading about snippets out of Sarah and Brett’s life. I still think they are a great couple. Sarah continues to have really weird dreams and Brett starts acting strangely, what is behind that?! She starts to question everything he does and is sure he wants to leave her.As if this is not enough, her best friend Carly announces that she is moving out to be with Josh. Her and Carly have a really deep friendship and I think Giovanna captured that beautifully in this story.Their legendary pub quiz nights play an important role in this book, which was great and so much fun to read about. It’s obvious that Brett hides something, but I actually had an idea what it was and I wasn’t surprised in the end. I felt it was a little predictable. It was still a very great ending and a wonderful little story to read. I enjoyed every second of it. Giovanna has a real talent to engage the reader and create a gripping storyline. A warm and cute story that will definitely make you smile.Rating: 4.5/5

SPOILER ALERT
This is the perfect companion to Dream a Little Dream. It was predictably sweet, but that's ok. I loved it.

Giovanna Fletcher has quickly become a favourite author of mine
Giovanna Fletcher has quickly become a favourite author of mine, her novels have progressed with her as she writes more and more and Dream A Little Dream was one of my favourite reads of the summer, so when I heard that Gi was writing a festive novella as a sequel it immediately made my wish list!Being a novella, Dream A Little Christmas Dream was a quick short read, but packed with great detail and humour, it had easy to follow references to Dream A Little Dream so it could be read as a standalone, although I would thoroughly suggest reading the full novel first.Sarah, the main character, is enjoying life since we last met her - she's happy in her new job and loved up with Real Brett... that is until her crazy dreams start to come back including one where she falls and loses all her teeth, Brett looks this up as a sign of big change happening but Sarah starts to wonder if that's true - especially after a few big announcements from her circle of friends at their weekly pub quiz meet up and Brett ignoring her 'Where do you think we are going chat?"Convinced ahes going to be dumped by Christmas, Sarah gets herself into a right pickle and as the last quiz night before Christmas looms closer shes far from feeling festive - that is until Santa, AKA Brett, hosts the quiz and dedicates one round completely to Sarah - shocked and surprised, all the little things she been worrying about soon clicks into place - finally Sarah can have a her happy ever after.Dream A Little Christmas Dream was delightful read, I loved catching up with Sarah and her group of friends and seeing how their lives have moved on.Giovanna has a great witty writing style that is full of emotion and takes you from laughing out loud to sighing 'ahh' and smiling right through to the end!

Everything that Giovanna writes is consistently perfect, beautifully written and utterly heartwarming. This is no exception!
I have read every single book that Giovanna Fletcher has written and having just this evening finished her latest release, Dream a Little Christmas Dream, can safely say that she can do no wrong - everything that Giovanna writes is consistently perfect, beautifully written and utterly heartwarming. Earlier this year I read Dream a Little Dream, completely fell in love with it and so eagerly anticipated the release of Dream a Little Christmas Dream.Dream a Little Christmas Dream, a short story, really carries on from where Dream a Little Dream left off with the reader being reunited with Sarah, her best friends and boyfriend, Brett Last, again. It’s nearly Christmas and whilst the vast majority of Sarah’s friends are growing up and settling down - starting a family, moving in together -Sarah is starting to feel fearful about her future. More specifically she’s starting to feel uncertain about her future with Brett who is starting to act very strange and is certainly not giving anything away about the direction he wants their relationship to go. If one things for certain, however, it’s that Sarah is determined to find out and she certainly does…Quite honestly I absolutely loved everything about this gorgeous story. Dream a Little Dream was by far my favourite novel written by Giovanna Fletcher mainly because I loved each and every one of the characters so much and really connected with Sarah. I was therefore so happy to be reunited with them at what is, personally, my favourite time of the year. Despite the very short length of the story, each character was incorporated into the story perfectly with each having a part to play and nobody ever feeling surplus to requirements. As you will know from reading my review of reading Dream a Little Dream, I really loved the dream sequences that appeared throughout it and was so glad that they made a reappearance in Dream a Little Christmas Dream. I thought they were fantastically constructed and thought through and once again really took on the appearance of dreams in terms of often being completely surreal and unrealistic. Once again, as with in Dream a Little Dream, they never felt out of place and always led perfectly into Sarah’s waking moments. For such a short story this book was absolutely incredible and was certainly not lacking in any respect - there was much humour, Christmas cheer and many aww-inducing moments. It was a real little sparkling treasure and one which brightened up a dull Sunday afternoon and left me feeling nothing except very happy. I cannot wait to read whatever Giovanna Fletcher writes next and really hope that we will one day be reunited again with the fantastic cast of characters that we first met in Dream a Little Dream and were lucky enough to meet again in Dream a Little Christmas Dream. In short, Dream a Little Christmas Dream was absolutely superb and I do not hesitate to recommend it!

As soon as I read the first chapter I knew my love for Sarah and Brett would come flooding back and after reading this book I loved them even more.It was easy to follow even though at first I thought there could be a possibility that I may have to read up on “Dream a little Dream” as I read it in the summer but that wasn’t the case. The way Giovanna just made you go straight back into the world of Sarah Thompson was so well written and made it such an easy and enjoyable read.It was full of drama, wit, friendship, romance and just lots of festive cheer.I found it a really quick read and found myself reading it in a couple of days, so with the weather being horrible this is the perfect book to read on a cold, wintery day.

Lovely little festive story
I read Dream a little dream earlier in the year and wasn't too impressed so didn't have high hopes for this but thought I would read it as I love Giovanna and wanted to give this novella a chance, I actually really enjoyed this story!!. I think it is always hard to write Novellas as they are so short that the story never gets going and they always seem lacking however this did not. One of my main complaints with the predecessor to this novella was that I felt Giovanna was trying too hard to be funny and it just annoyed me, however it didn't seem that way here it just seemed to flow naturally. I felt like I really connected with the characters more and this helped my over all enjoyment. There was a lot of recap from the actual novel itself but I think this is because Giovanna wants you to be able to read this as a stand alone if you haven't read Dream a Little Dream, I felt the novella could have done better without all the recap but that really was my only fault with this one.Overall a little gem of a novella and worth a read.

Fabulous followup
I absolutely loved Dream A Little Dream earlier this year, and had been looking forward to this Christmas sequel. My only fault with the this sequel, is that it was very short, and I would have happily kept reading it for a lot longer.I honestly can't say if this will work as a standalone, as I really feel you should read the first one, as its brilliant, before reading this.Sarah's dreams are back, are they are as bizarre as ever (although there is no space sex this time around!), there are a few slightly freaky dreams. Sarah has s very vivid and active sub concious with what it comes up with.Brett has been acting a bit strangely and won't be drawn on their future, so Sarah starts suspecting the worst, especially after she compares their situation to that of their friends, some of whom are making big life altering announcements.I had a gut feeling to why Brett was acting oddly, and although the outcome was arguable predictable, you will love the set up and reveal. Very romantic and the whole story left me with a huge smile on my face.Dream a Little Christmas Dream is a sweet follow up to a great book, and if you enjoyed Dream A Little Dream I would urge you to read this, as it gives some fabulous closure, and who doesn't want to read more dreams?!
