Absolutely Lovely Story!
Absolutely Stunning! I LOVED this book and I really thought that I was going to HATE it! The low-star reviews that I read are just not fair for this beautiful book from our darlings Christina & Lauren. All these reviewers wanted to re-read the CLo books of the Beautiful B*stard troupe and this is not one of those books. Don’t get me wrong – BB is one of my all time favorites – but this is a lovely, heart-wrenching, second chance love story. The Past: Tate is a sheltered 18 year-old everygirl – sheltered from the public as her father is a iconic movie star who wronged her mother years ago. Sam is visiting London with his dying Grandfather. Whirl wind romance thru London staring at the stars ends in a crazy cosmic betrayal.Sam: “Can you believe me, though?” he asks quietly. “That the worst thing I ever did was for the best reason I ever had?” SWOON!The Now: Sam’s betrayal forced Tate into a fabulous acting career – rough, huh? The second chance meeting is not a pleasant surprise as they are forced together on Tate’s Oscar-potential breakout film role – 14 years later! Lots of angsty drama (not what we are used to from our authorettes) but it WORKS!Supporting characters – CLO really puts a lot into the ancillary characters which always has you rooting for follow up sequels. Charlie (Tate’s outgoing bestie) and Marco or maybe some Nick and Trey – all sorts of fun scenarios running thru my mind.I cried throughout and I was delighted by the ending – wishing for at least 4 more chapters! This is a wonderfully written, soulful story. I became emotionally invested in both flawed characters just anticipating their ultimate real reunion which was beautiful. Good Job Ladies!

tough
Well written and interesting story but heartbreaking and tough read. I enjoy books by these authors but they don’t pull punches or keep it light and campy. Have tissues handy and know that I was sad for most of it, which is unusual for these authors but was maybe also my mood when I read it. My fav is still Josh and hazels guide to dating if you haven’t yet read it, do so!

falls short
6.5/10*I prefer an out of 10 rating scale and will always include that in my reviewsAnother book from Christina and Lauren, two co-authors who have collaborated on many novels together. The book started out really sweet. It’s a celebrity trope with a twist. The beginning is a flashback and I fell in love with the two main characters and was excited to see where it was headed. However, it’s clear, on the back of the book, that the female lead will be betrayed. Even knowing this ahead of time, it still made me sad when it occurred. My problem with this novel is that I was able to easily anticipate most of the events. I knew who made the betrayal and I knew why early on. Yet the authors laced the information together in a way where it appeared as though they were trying to surprise you. There was no shock factor like they intended. So the book felt like it was lacking something. My wish (or negative comment): The female lead had a rough go in the beginning of the story and the minute you think it’s going to lighten up for her, it doesn’t. She just kept getting metaphorically kicked and no one seemed to care. I would have preferred the book to be in both main character’s voices because then I would have understood the male lead better. It’s hard to root for a character that you are frustrated with off the bat.In addition to that, I felt like all the drama of the book occurred in the past. There was nothing in the present propelling it forward. It almost seemed like the events in the story should have gone in a different order so that there could be more going on the middle of the novel.I felt that this story lacked a strong ending as well. Everything was resolved far too easily.Overall, I do believe these authors are beautiful writers and their book had a great premise. It just fell short in certain areas.Explicitness: Though not closed door, I believe there is only one or two sex scenes and it is not overly descriptive.

It’s a must read
So, so good. I wanted to finish it in one day but forced myself not to. I’m sure I’ll read it again. Complicated relationships with parents, young love, old love, and a happy ending…loved it.

A beautiful love story
A two for one love story. Roberta and Luther, though I wish we got more of seemed like the sweetest couple having over come a huge obstacle aka racism! But Same and Tate, I can’t get over them. I just love young love, then heartbreak then that same love found again. ♥️

Truly Loved…
I’m in awe of true love, especially one that transcends time, space and distance. Add miscommunication, one decision that multiplies exponentially, and a dose of fate, with complex family relationships and a lot of laughter, you have a winner. May we all be blessed with true love at least once, but maybe it’s better the second time around 😘

Heartbreaking and amazing
Just loved this story of Tate and Sam. Beautifully put together and Sam was the perfect hero. Not to be missed.

Not worth the money
I used to enjoy reading books by Christina Lauren. This one is not my cup of tea. The story is boring, totally unbelievable and long.

Young love とsecond chances

An emotional second chance romance.
A second chance, betrayal of trust romance, Twice in a Blue Moon, was an enjoyable and emotional read. I so felt for Tate and the hurdles she faced in her life and thought that the author did a very good job of detailing that conflict. I love a happily ever after story but did find Sam’s motive and his behaviour and actions in the past and present hard to justify. That said, the author has given the reader a plausible reason and created a believable to me romance with some incredibly emotional passages.
