Sonos One (Gen 2) - The powerful Smart Speaker with Amazon Alexa Built-in, White

I bought this because I wanted a speaker that could handle Airplay2 - something that’s relatively rare among speakers. I’ve never known any device so easy and intuitive to set up. Download the app and it pretty much does the rest for you, even joining the WiFi without having to type in your wireless key. I was up and rolling in five minutes. I’m blown away by the volume and sound quality of such a small speaker. Its integration with Airplay is seamless, and while I wasn’t really keen on getting an Alexa speaker I am very pleased with how it responds - particularly playing radio stations. I think the price is steep compared to other speakers in its market but overall given it does absolutely everything I need it to and flawlessly so, I’m happy.

I have 4 Sonos 5 speakers throughout my property. It is a fantastic system, we have 2 paired in the lounge for watching films, which is like a surround sound, we don't have a TV, so this is very important to us. This new Sonos 1 speaker is for my kitchen, it has finished off the sound system now. What a lovely clean white the speaker is. The sound as always is superb. It is so easy to use & the set up is so simple a 3yr old could do it!! I don't understand anyone having issues with the setting up of the product. If you have the Sonos app, you just follow the instructions in the booklet, & it practically does it by itself, it really is that simple, so don't be put off by negative people, it is not the Sonos!! I would recommend this system to anyone, obviously the only possible problem is if your WiFi goes down, so always wise to have another source of radio etc in the cupboard. Having said that, I have hardly ever had this issue. I love my Sonos & listen to it constantly throughout the day. If you want a treat, buy Sonos, you won't regret it. Enjoy.

Writing this review after 6 months if use and now I'm very happy with it. I know it's subjective, but for me this is the best sounding speaker at this price point. Initially it would not work with audible via Alexa, only via the Sonos app. This was a known bug which took Sonos support a long time to fix but is now working great.

First step into the Sonos world. We were Not disappointed. Good sound. Easy setup. Looks good. Will be getting more Sonos products based on this purchase. Lots of posts about Sonos being expensive, but this is a first level premium product and the build quality shows why the extra cost. Minor niggle, as this is not a dedicated Alex product there are a couple of options missing that I would have liked to use, so I docked half a star, which is a whole one unfortunately, so I gave the full 5 as a compromise.

Sound quality is good. Unstable connection via WiFi (but has been better of late). Pain to reconnect as app keeps failing to find it despite it being connected to the router (would advise Ethernet connection over wi-fi if possible). Doesn't integrate on Android phones well, so you have to use the Sonos app rather than choose from (eg) tidal, BBC sound etc which makes its use more complicated. No option to cast from phone I can see. Is litigating against Google so it may get better in the near future. So nice peice of kit, but not as useable or user friendly as I expected for the cost.

I bought the Sonos after trying an Echo Studio. The Studio had a strong and engaging sound but it was too wild and woolly for me, the lack of clarity being the main issue. To my ears the Sonos has a much clearer and more detailed sound whilst still having plenty of bass. It has a sound that draws you in and makes you want to listen more. I thought that the lack of bluetooth would be a big drawback but in fact it works well from Alexa, Apple airplay, and the Amazon Music, Spotify and Sonos apps. I have also tried it against my stereo pair of Echos generation 3. Whilst the Echos gain from the stereo they are outclassed by the quality of the Sonos sound. No doubt a pair of Sonos would be good but a single one is conveniently portable around the house ( though it does need to be plugged in!)

Using it with Apple HomeKit - works perfectly - no Siri functionality but you can use it with Siri on HomePod or Apple TV. Ideal option if you want to extend your existing HomePod to multi-room experience at a great price. There is simply not many speakers with good Airplay 2 comparability at the moment or are very expensive. Once added to HomeKit the Sonos shows itself in Airplay menu on your iOS devices with multi-select option available (if you have other Airplay 2 devices). You can also use it Standalone or with Alexa via Sonos app (I did not enabled Alexa though). Sound is great but not as good as Apple HomePod (which is an of course an expensive option).

The sound quality is excellent and pairing it up to Spotify and BBC Sounds was easy. I’ve still not worked out how to do voice recognition. However I think that’s more me than the item. I bought it so I could play background music in my treatment room but also use it in the house for listening to music. The volume is very controllable. I was also very impressed with the delivery it arrived about 5 days before the planned delivery date which should have been after New Year but I received it before.

I was thinking to get additional echo for multi-room music playback and saw this speaker, it seems to promise better music playback experience so I gave it a try. With that in mind I bought two of them and made a stereo pair. What I love about this speaker: - Easy to setup via the iPhone app - Great improvement on music playback, definitely much better than echo / echo dot - Features that allows you to adjust the base/treble, tuning for Trueplay - Flexibility to add on other Sonos products, in fact I bought a Beam and Sub Gen 3 after trying this speaker - Airplay / Sonos streaming that can be recognised by Roon What I didn't expect: - Multi-room playback cannot work with echo, basically they are two different system This was not my initial purpose but the music experience changed my mind and I decided to keep this and build the Sonos system for living room, no regret on that.

كنت محتار بين هذا الإصدار و إيكيا symfonisk لربطها مع سونوس بيم جودة البناء و والميكرفون والتفوق البسيط للصوت كان لصالح هذا الإصدار مع أن السعر يصل إلى الضعف إلا أن وكيل إيكيا هنا لم يطل الحيرة بسبب السعر الي كان مقارب لإصدار one علاوة على عدم توفر الإصدار الجديد تطبيق سونوس يتيح ربط مكبرات الصوت مع خيار مستقل لكل مصدر حسب توزيع السماعات وموقع السماعة تم ربطها مع سونوس بيم وكانت تجربة صوتية مثالية مؤخرا تم تحديث التطبيق وأضافت سونوس التحكم الصوتي لتشغيل الموسيقى عن طريق الأوامر الصوتية واستجابة التحكم سريعة سعر جيد مقابل الأداء اجمالا اعتبرها تجربة رائعة

الصوت استريو قوي وجبار لكن هناك بعض العيوب اولاً ثقل السماعة ثاني عيب انها سلكية والسلك بالاسفل مما يجعل المكبر غير ثايت ومستقيم وثالث شيء التزامن مع جهاز الايفون ليس سهلا فيه بعض الصعوبة وكل مرة اريد الاتصال بالمبكر اعاود المزامنة وباخذ وقت اضطريت ارجعها مع انها ممتازة كصوت ونقاوة

Packaging was good for protection and delivery was quick, within 2 days. Seldom have any doubts on delivery service with Amazon anyway. The speaker was really awesome with the strong bass and loud enough to fill the room. I placed it in the living room and can generally hear around the house (subjective I believe). Setting up was really simple and quick, pairing with wifi through the app. Spotify works well and can also easily locate the speaker. Love it!!
