Pirate Boy Kindle Edition

This is probably a very good read for a child who's been through some sort of trauma or scare, even a mild one. I gave it back a star for that thought alone, and as a therapist specializing in children's trauma I think I would definitely recommend this book in that situation. In my son's situation, however, it created worry and concerns where there were previously none, and after a few reads I actually hid the book because I felt like it was stressing him out. Good author, situationally a good book, but this isn't a light-hearted pirate adventure like I had hoped.

My son is in a huge pirate stage. We got him this book for his birthday and he has requested it be read every night since. The story of the boy and his mom and how she will get through any obstacle for him is sweet. The illustrations are wonderful. This book will likely have a place on my son's bookshelf and in our hands for quite some time.

Not really about pirates, reminded me of "I love you stinky face" about amothers love for her child. Still cute.

Says it is for older kids but this is really a toddler book.

We LOVE this book! I gave it to my nephew as a gift (along with a red bandana like the boy in the book wears) and it was such a huge hit that I bought one for my own son. We read it over and over. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has a child that loves to read (even my 3 gurls love reading this book).

Just bought this book for my little boy's birthday, and he we are loving it. It truly is about the bond between a mother and son. My son is 4 and has enjoyed me reading it to him. The illustrations are nice! Very happy I purchased.

I gave this book to my 2-year-old grandson. It made a huge hit! And the story itself was so exciting for him. I highly recommend this book to any pirate-enthusiast!!!

I think this was the cutest book. It reads like a real conversation between a mother and son. The son keeps coming up with perilous or uncomfortable situations, and Mom calmly anticipates and provides a solution. The beautiful theme is that I will always be there for you , no matter what the situation. You are never lost or abandoned, and there will always be a way to put things the way we want. Lovely sentiment, a relaxing reinforcement to put any child at ease in our anxiety driven society. I love this book!

We all loved this book. I shall buy it for my godchildren's birthdays too. A super, intelligent tale very well illustrated...

Great story for 2nd graders. Mistery and curiosity are all around and keeps the reading catching. Worth reading for kids!
