It started out OK.
It breaks pavers with a success rate of 80% (sometimes it crumbles part of the paver and you have to waste one).My paver splitter started to crack on the 29th day after I received it (and after cutting just a few dozen pavers). I contacted the seller who did not offer much help (other than to say they weren't responsible since I ordered it more than 30 days prior - even though Amazon's policy is 30 days after delivery of an item). They suggested that they "might" be able to get a replacement part from the factory. When I tried to return it, I was given an address in Ukraine - another violation of Amazon policy.I suggest you skip this splitter, and get a proper tile saw to make nice clean cuts on your paving stones.

Poorly designed. There is no way to put pressure on either side, it simply tries to cut straight down on a paver.

Not as quick or clean as a commericial but, with patience, it get's the job done.
I used this splitter for a large patio and a 180' long driveway with a diagonal herringbone pattern. Needless to say - LOTS of cuts were required. For standard 2 1/2" paver thickness, it works OK out of the box, but if you need a very clean straight edges, it's best to score the top and bottom about 1/8 deep with a diamond blade. I used a 6 1/2 diamond blade on a cordless circular saw set to 1/8". This makes a quick reference cut, and produces a clean edge when finishing the cut with the splitter. Again, not as fast as the commercial models, but if time isn't the issue, this works just fine. For the patio, we used 1 1/4" thick pavers. This required a little modification to the splitter. You'll need two 12" sections of 1/2" steel square bar (available at any home center), and some heavy washers to raise the platform to the height of the bar. Once done, you can easily split patio pavers. If doing 2" pavers, simply swap out the upper blade with 1/2 square bar leaving the platform alone.Lastly - instead of trying to push the arm down with one heavy press, set the upper cutter on the paver and bounce the arm 3-4 times with moderate down pressure. This creates the best cut.Overall -- it's a good value for DIY types.
