Absolutely delicious!
If I could give 10 stars I would. I've never had black tea this good in my entire life. I've lived in England a long time and black tea is a staple. I just didn't like most of the brands now I'm in the US again and tried this. I drink my black tea with milk if it's hot or sugar if it's cold. I haven't tried this iced so I can't testify to that. One sip and I was exclaiming out loud throughout the whole cup. Absolutely delicious and I cannot obviously recommend it enough.

Great cupa
Have brought this a few times now. The quality is high and had a decent price. The aroma is unique perhaps not it bru level 😆 but still. Absolutely love it. Makes a strong robust cupa. The tea color of course though dark changed depending on whether you you aren't barbaric and make it the proper way . The packs were huge .lasted a long while and still have some, and it's still fresh due to the great packaging. Will be buying again soon.

Slow brew
Product is fine regarding quality and price but delivery was a bit slower than typical for Amazon

How a love affair started
Wayback in 1999, my wife and I rented a, “self catering cottage” in Spanish Point near Milltown Malbay, Ireland. We loved Renting a place for a week and then spoke traveling to the surrounding areas. Right after we arrived we went to the local store for supplies. Both of us have been tea drinkers for many years, although my daughter succumbed to peer pressure and adopted, an awful coffee addiction in college. But I digress, an awful habit. I asked the shopkeeper for a recommendation on a brand of tea, and he recommended Barry’s. I picked up a package of gold and continued shopping. A sweet older lady seeing my purchase said in that delightful Irish lilt, “Oh sir, that is a terribly strong tea if you’re not a custom to it. “ I smiled and said I was a confirmed tea drinker and was anxious to try something new but would add a box of Irish Breakfast just in case. It was one of those special moments you only get when you’re off the beaten path and in a small town. We talked for a few minutes and I learned that the area was named for where the famous Spanish Armada finally shipwrecked, and then she added in a whisper, “Outsiders said the improvised locals robbed them naked.” Then, with a twinkle in her eye added, “The truth is the Spaniards were so grateful for our rescuing them, the survivors even gave us the clothes off their backs.” Thus was born a love of Barry’s Gold! It is strong, but so smooth it’s a almost a sin to add either milk or sugar, but us sinners are forgiven and soooo well rewarded! Either way, you’ll find it delightfully different! As a friend used to say, “There’s not a bit of hair on that story!”

My one and only tea
I grew up drinking this in Ireland and I continue ordering it online to drink it in California, multiple cups daily, all year round. Smooth, strong, full-bodied and refreshing. I even pack it in my bag for a weekend away. For best results, use boiling water and pre-heat the cup or teapot as well. And NEVER cram the teabags into a small container to store them! Crushed teabags are ruined teabags.

Amazing but
I truly like this tea but a few days after using one single teabag , I noticed mold forming on all other bags. I tried properly storing them in a dry and airtight container but no luck this time.

On my last visit to Ireland I was introduced to Barry's Gold and it was love at first sight. It has a unique flavour that can't be replicated. I brought a small box of tea back to Canada and was very carefully parceling it out. My sister came to visit and I made the mistake of making a pot... she ended up using my second-to-last bag while I wasn't looking and I knew I had to lock down a supply ASAP. I ordered the 3-pack and she's getting one of them for Christmas.
