Too fragile
This soap disk is hollow and very fragile. Not a good weight for a bathroom counter with granite counter. If it falls forget it it will shatter

Slippery dish
It's a pretty soap dish, but bar soap slides right out of it. Very slick with no edge to keep soap in.

NOTHING IS PERFECT.
THERE IS A TINY DARK SPOT ON THE DISH. IT IS NOT LARGE BUT THE DISH IS SO WHITE AND PRETTY. I DECIDED TO KEEP IT BUT AT TIMES AM NOT HAPPY I DID. OH WELL. IT IS IN MY BATH.

Looks like ceramic. It's probably Not!
This soap dish has a very pleasing design, but it's not as advertised. It is more like porcelain-coated metal. The body is hollow and the shell is quite thin. If it were pure porcelain, produced with that degree of thin-ness, it would be a work of art and sell for 10 to 100 times the price; it would also ring like a bell when tapped lightly by a hard object. My guess is that it is aluminum alloy with a ceramic-like coating. I'm not willing to cut it in half to find out because I want to return it.

It's Unobtrusive
Which is exactly what I was looking for. I had wanted a yellow soap dish as a design element. Couldn't find it. So I settled for this soap dish. And I'm very happy with it. Instead of being a design element, it retreats into the background. It's nice looking but doesn't call attention to itself. I'm glad I ordered it.
