I just received this lamp and am very pleased. It is just as described and it was very easy to assemble and fill. I was worried that, being an empty glass ball, it would be broken in shipment. But the packaging was very well thought out and it arrived in perfect shape. I've seen comments that large objects will not fit inside the globe. This is probably true but any object up to several inches wide would fit. I did not fill mine with shells, but the fact that the maker sends some shells with the lamp for those who want to is going the extra mile and a nice touch and speaks to the quality.

I searched online for glass fillable lamps and after researching at least 50 different ones, I chose this style. I bought 2 and I couldn't be more pleased with them. Their price is a nice middle ground, not too cheap and not too expensive. They are lovely and will match my bedroom beach house remodel perfectly. Number one reason I like these- you can fill them from the top so that your arrangement will stay the way you design it. Plus the opening on top was just large enough that my hand could fit inside, now I don't have big hands ( size 6 ring finger) but it worked out great for me. Also the brushed nickle lid for the light housing and harp fit over the outside lip of the glass jar base and it has three set screws that you can carefully tighten to hold it level and steady in place. Some of the other fillable lamps out there have a cork lid that slides down into the glass base and I found that the fit was uneven, the shade and light housing were too wobbly and easily moved when being turned on or off. Also there is no unsightly rod inside to get in the way as many similar lamps have. The shade is a nice, clean bright white color which I wanted to best co-ordinate with my bedding ensemble. The shells which come with these lamps were a cute extra touch too. I plan on layering some sand,( turquoise and natural,) some stone pebbles, then the shells mixed with some of my own from our recent trip to Florida. I would recommend these to a friend.

I have so many shells from Florida and wanted to display them. Several of these lamps are similar some smaller but I decided on this one and I am not sorry. Solid and displays beautifully. Great find

Does what it is supposed to do, nice idea for decorating, can use many other "fill" items.

This lamp gives me a great deal of pleasure as I can put the shells I gather in the base and look at them from time to time. Not difficult to assemble and fit in your shells.

I was hesitant to buy this--at $60, it's not cheap, and I frankly wanted a very different looking lamp for the console table I intended it for. Alas, we have no outlet in my front foyer, so i had to come up with a different plan. I did ask my husband to install an outlet there, and I suppose some year he will...but until he does, I had to have SOME sort of light there. And that's why I bought this lamp. I can leave it unplugged on the console table, and fill the base with battery-powered lights.I decided to fill my lamp with LED string lights, which are battery operated and cast a nice glow. The lights I bought are remote controlled, and I can also choose from a variety of different colors with a push of a button. I can also set a timer with the remote. I buried the battery pack under colored sand and colored glass, and threw some seashells on top. I've attached some photos of my lamp, but it's SO hard to convey just HOW pretty this lamp turned out with iPhone photos...the pictures either show as an aqua blob of light, or they make the lights inside look like a wad of chicken wire...but trust me, the pictures don't do it justice--it's GORGEOUS. If you are into crafts, or are looking to create a themed room, you really cannot go wrong with this.
