Vic FirthAmerican Concept Freestyle Drumsticks 5B - Wood Tip

Finally a 17" 5B stick , perfectly balanced , feel great in the hands and bring out a beautiful sound from drums , cymbals and kit percussion . Definitely glad I tried these sticks and as I get older, 63 now , they make playing easier , I don't have to work so hard and are easier to grip .I've used them to play jazz, funk,reggae and rock and they allow me to handle them all. Thanks Vic Firth, after using your sticks for years I finally have the perfect model for me.

I bought the 5A's which is my normal stick to try them out. And I am surprised how the extra inch can feel really odd. It will take me a bit to get comfortable with them. I will buy more if that happens.

Right where do I start - these are perfect. I used these throughout the whole of 2020 and only went through two pairs - very long lasting and I played everyday!The weight and length of the stick are great.

Didn't last very long, in fact broke one day beyond the Amazon return date (4 weeks). This is not the first time either. Purchased for my son who likes a "lighter" stick, but seems like we need to look for a different brand.

A fat stick with a bit of extra length and not too heavy. Nice feel to them.

Amazing pair of sticks. Great feel, amazing durability for metal music players and beautiful sound. I would highly recommend this to every drummer.

Bought two pairs, one stick broke in the same place from each pair within 24 hours.

These feel incredibly long on first use and I found I had to sit a little further back to feel comfortable using them, that said they offer a sort of lazy fluid feel if, for example playing at slow/moderate speeds but still light enough if needed...a heavier stick in this length would be too much stick for me. I can't say they'll suit everybody but I like them for certain numbers while preferring the standard length at other times, the same 7A 'standard length' stick feels very different used back to back...you'll just have to try them to see if they suit. These have that lovely smooth/hard feel to them as expected with VF sticks, they feel very nice in the hand.
