Do the wheels come off?

Only if you break them! Like most die-cast cars, the wheels do spin, but they are not mean to be removed. The Mini Racers are very well constructed; don't worry about them falling apart.

Are these the same size as the Micro Drifters?

No. These are diecast with 4 rolling wheels. Drifters are plastic with a single roller ball for sliding sideways.
