Very nice tool!
I bought this after my last Ryobi flip bit and drive tool broke off its stem. Ryobi has a new version of it but it is very underwhelming in comparison to the previous version. So I took a gamble and tried the DeWalt flip bit driver, and scored big time . It works great, has a much thicker stem than Ryobi's version, and is a welcome addition to my chest of tools. I do plan to buy more as things like these as it seems these days that things that work great disappear quickly for some reason. As it stands right now, I highly recommend these if you do a lot of drill-n-drive work. Once you get the hang of how to flip the center chuck, you will appreciate the engineering and how quick you get after awhile flipping back and forth. Cheers!!!

Good time saver
The media could not be loaded. I use this pretty much any time I'm driving screws on the outer surface of something, it pretty much makes it inconvenient for me NOT to drill a pilot hole AND counter sink before I sink a screw so that's a win from any angle you look at it. And it's designed with ease of use with one hand in mind. The only issue I have with it so far is it is pretty large and clunky so I don't look as cool holding a drill with it attached but that hasn't stopped me from using it

Good countersink, pilot hole and driver combo tool
This is a handy product for making the correct size pilot hole with a replacable, adjustable drill bit length so you can use different screw lengths and not drill all of the way through your project. The multi-bladed steel countersink cuts clean holes which are large enough to allow you to cover the screw head with a wooden plug if desired (some pilot/countersink tools are too small in diameter to do this). I have never experienced a problem with the countersink becoming too dull to use. The driver bit is also replacable. The first thing I do with the #6 is to replace the bit with a Dewalt drywall bit since it does a better job of installing the screws by remaining engaged with the slots in the screw head. The only negative regarding the tool is the fact that the majority of the tool body is made of aluminum and the set screw holes will wear and loosen over time, especially if you use it frequently to drive screws in hardwoods (it will drive a lot of screws before becoming unusable, though). This is why I'm only giving it four out of five stars. If DeWalt would make the body from steel, I would never have to purchase a replacement and the tool would be the very best tool of it's kind -- period!!! I have two of these drivers, one configured for #6 screws and the other for #8, since I frequently use both, it saves time changing drill and driver bits on one tool.

If you do a lot of construction or home repairs, get one (or 2 or 3)
If you build a lot of stuff, you really want one of these. It allows you to pre-drill and countersink screw holes without having to fuss with bits, which always seem to get misplaced even when you think you noted just where you put them. You just use the drill side of the flip driver, then flip the bit around and drive the screw. Sounds like not much difference compared with just switching back and forth between separate drill and driver bits , but if you’ve got a couple dozen screws to drive it makes a big difference. The reason for the title is that you need to use an Allen wrench to change screw driver bits (if, for example, you want to drive a Phillips head this time and the last time you used it you were using star-drive screws). I actually bought three of these and keep one with a T-25 driver, one with a Phillips head driver, and one with a square driver for ease of use on the jobsite. There’s just one improvement I’d like to see in the design of thes bits: the shank on the bit is larger than a standard hex-base bit, and so you can’t chuck it into an impact driver, you have to use a drill with a standard chuck. I suspect the lawyers made them do this so you don’t try to drill with an impact driver, but people do it anyway and generally have no problems.

DeWALT DRILL FLIP DRIVE
Over the years I have used many brands . None compare to the quality and ease of use of this DeWalt unit. This unit is the best........... Has a 5/16th hex drive shank which eliminates the wobble experienced with the units that have a 1/4 hex drive. (That's not always well centered) The quick release is so much smoother to operate than any I have used. I have a half dozen wore out units that are going in the trash tomorrow. Today is the first time using the DeWalt. But it won't be the last.

it does work
This tool is a good idea, and it took me a bit to figure out how to use it properly. On my first use, the drill bit broke of in the piece I was working on. When I replaced the broken bit, the set screw fell out and was lost. I replaced he drill bit, and the set screw, now it works.

Works well
Great quality

Don't buy this !
This is poorly made of materials that are too soft, any torque applied to drive the screw results in the insert getting jammed in the body and then it has to be removed with pliers, doubles the time the project takes, have models that are older and are made much better, won't ever purchase again
