This battery was a solar replacement for a Seiko watch and it worked fine. The thing you remember is to shake the watch to activate the battery. This is information I read from the internet

If you have a Seiko solar powered watch that is over five years old, you may experience, as I did, the watch starting to loose time at night or not when exposed to direct sun light. That is an indication of the rechargeable battery going bad. This battery is a hard to find item. But luckily it is still available through Amazon. I took my watch to a local jeweler, who wanted $100 to send the watch off to a repair facility to have the battery replaced. I instead ordered a watch repair kit and this battery and did the job myself saving over 50 bucks and now I have a nice repair kit for future use also. You can find videos on YouTube that will guide you through the replacement process.

My Seiko solar watch ran 25 years with no problem- ever! Recently stopped. My daughter took it to jeweler who replaced battery- but when she inquired if they used Solar battery, they said there is no such thing and she didn’t know what she was talking about. Watch ran three days & is dead as a door nail. I’m torn between dealing with another jeweler, buying a new Solar Seiko, or trying to replace the battery/capacitor myself

The battery requires a microscopic screw to hold it in place. The original one was damaged when removing the old battery. Not sure if the lack of this screw is why the battery will not charge, but it currently will not charge after numerous and lengthy attempts. It would have been nice if this screw would have been included with the battery.

My Seiko solar watch is only 4 years old but started stopping every night. I tried charging the battery by placing it in the window but it would only work for 2 days without stopping. I installed the new battery this morning and have it in the window to make sure it’s fully charged before wearing. The installation of the battery was definitely challenging. I ordered a watch repair kit to remove the back and the tiny little screw that holds the battery in. When I say tiny screw I mean it’s a tiny screw. I removed the screw without much problem but screwing it back in was not easy to say the least. You really need one of the jewelers magnifying lenses that goes on your head to get the screw into the hole and screwed down. While holding the screw with the tweezers provided in the repair kit and trying to get it in the hole, the screw popped out and flew off the table. I can’t believe I was able to find it both times. So to make a long story short, this battery plus the repair kit will repair your watch but you need good light, good eyes, patience and a steady hand. I really had none of the above but somehow managed to complete the job. Good luck 😁Update: the battery was not the problem as the watch still stops. 4 years of easy use and a 3 year warranty the watch is done. I had a Seiko before this one that I wore for 25 years. I have always swore by Seiko but have now ordered a Citizen.

No issues with the battery, worked fine once installed. The screw is a challenge to get back in, not so much to take out. Used a 0.8mm screwdriver.

The media could not be loaded.  Purchased at Kohl’s, I thought I could take it in to have the battery replaced for my V158-0AA0 in my seiko solar watch number SNE042. Kohl’s has stopped battery replacement since the pandemic. Watch immediately started ticking for the first time in 4 years after me finally working up the courage to do this myself with a little watch kit (screwdriver, case wrench, tweezers, and watch clamp only required). I’m so happy! Thank you Golden Image Jewelers for putting the tick back in my wrist!
