Inspiring
This is an amazing book, referred to me by a friend. It brought me some ideas for future coaching opportunities and also reminded me of lessons I already learned for myself.

Uninspiring, Unrealistic, and Arrogant
I found the book to be extremely self glorifying and all about himself. I was recommended this book by a hall of fame lacrosse coach and found it to be extremely uninspiring. Jay has accomplished a lot of great things - not taking that away from him and his success. His definition of "toughness" is greatly flawed and unrealistic to the vast majority of people in the sports world (or life) who want to be greater. He comes from a very high socio economic status background and was very well off growing up with his home life. He started closer to the finish line at birth than 99% of people do in the world. It literally doesn't get better than his upbringing. Again, just my opinion. A couple books I though were much more realistic and inspiring were "The Gold Standard" by Coach K (EXCELLENT read for aspiring athletic coaches) and "The Captains Class".

Be tough.
What a fantastic book. As a coach of 15+ years this book is spot on for any level of player. Truly nails down just what it means to be tough. Very easy to digest his points and share with the team.

Must read for our younger generation.
This is not only a great lesson in toughness, it may be a better lesson on how to live your life. Although repeatitive at times, this book gives great examples and instructions on how to live the right way in this ever softened world.

Great source of inspiration for young athletes
This book emphasise the importance of the mental side of the game with plenty of 1st hand references. Previous notions of toughness conjured up the physical aspect.
