Q: Does the lid stop at 90 degrees when open or would it flip all the way back and hit the backsplash?

It does not stop at 90 degrees , it will open allbthe way towards the back

Q: Where is this bread box made?

I'm not really sure but here is the link to the company ... i looked over the website to see if i could find the where everything is made but no luck. http://www.nowdesigns.net/about-us I submitted the question to the generic email and I will let you know if they respond. Let me know if you find out anything. ..I'm curious now! I will tell you that I absolutely love this bread box

Not sure where the bin is but my bread stays fresh!! It's on the counter by the sink...No sun comes on that counter....not sure if that helps...live my bread tin!!
