We purchased 3 of these locks prior to taking a trip so we could secure our bikes while we were away. We woke up one morning to discover someone had attempted to cut off one of the bike locks overnight. They made it thru the outer shell and managed to break a few inside wires, but there was still a solid amount of wire left that they were not able to break thru. We were quite impressed with how well the lock worked! As soon as we returned home, we ordered a replacement lock to have for our next trip.

I DO understand that this lock is simply a deterrent, and could probably be easily cut. But, with that being said, I think it’s a great buy. I live in a nice area and hope that a simple deterrent system will be enough.While I love the color options, I went with the black/grey. I just think it makes it look like a higher quality lock as opposed to a bright, fancy color. Believe me...I wanted pink. 😉I haven’t tried the mount. I think it would be in the way of the step-through. I have a rear bag I store it in, but will mount it if/when needed.It’s easy to use and I wanted a 5-numeral code so when my friends visit and use the bike I can just change it to something they’ll remember: their ZIP code!Should I find that it’s quality and security don’t lead up to my expectations, I will definitely update my review. Until then, and I sure hope I don’t have to, I’m pretty happy with the purchase.

This lock is nothing more than a slight deterrent. It is very easily cut (and was, resulting in my bike being stolen). If you look at the cross-section of the cut cable it's mostly plastic with only a thin metal wire. Do not get this lock if you are looking for actual security.

It does well enough to get the frame and front wheel on a normal bike rack but trying to do the same to two bikes or even around a small tree can be almost impossible.After uncoiling it does bounce back quite nicely which is very nice to see and the color is very vibrant and looks great.The mount connects solidly and easily to the bike frame for traveling but noticed in two months, the bolts are really heavily rusted... probably won't create a problem unless trying to remove or adjust them but worth mentioning.Easy to set combination, aesthetically attractive and feels solid, just wish it was 6 inches longer and maybe used stainless or galvanized screws but otherwise would recommend

Bike got stolen on the first day of law school no less! From the melting on the rubber, the thieves may have used some kind of power tool, but it still took them less than 5 minutes to steal it from our front carport.

I would never recommend this lock. Both my bike and my husband’s bike were stolen. The thief cut through it easily and left it on the ground. Please don’t buy this lock if you love your bike. If I could give this lock 0 stars I would. Over $1,000 gone due to the obvious fake reviews :(

Very durable bike lock. Nice mounting bracket that serves as a quick on and off storage system. The large numbers on the dial are easy to rotate and see. The cable is strong yet easy to manipulate for locking up. It is stout and well made. It's not difficult to connect the lock together. The mechanisms seem to fit smoothly and intentionally. The little red button on the storage bracket makes for a one handed removal of the lock in a quick and easy motion. It makes locking up a very speedy task when you're running late for class. When the bike racks are crowded, you can always stretch this lock so you can lock up. Those Ubolt style locks always have to be hard against the rack to lock up and thus will make you late for class. This is the way to go for a hurried student at a crowded bike rack. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Like it! Just got it and tested and keeping it. Very easy to reset the combo and the cable feels strong and yet flexible. They coil back to its original shape which I like.
