Q: can this lock be cut with a cable cutter?

Yes, mine was yesterday when my bike was stolen. The cable looked like it was cut through cleanly in one chop.

You can just snap it together and go, but you will need the key to unlock it.

Q: how do I reset the lock on the schwinn combo lock?

To change the combination, you'll open the lock first. Then turn the reset knob. Change the digits to the combo desired and then turn the rest knob back. Thank you.

Q: How come preset combination (0000) did not work? I could not unlock it at all.

When I purchased one, it had a little red plate attached to it with the four digit combination that was a random number. Mine was something like 4783.
