WedgitTan Maxi Twist Tight Adjustable Sliding Window & Door Security bar extends from 25" to 42"

Very easy to use in an old fashioned pulley system window. Twist Tight feature allows for perfect alignment. Have not attempted to use this for a sliding door. Wish it came in more colors to blend in better with my brown window frames. I would have given it a fifth star if it were metal.

Well thought out design. Lightweight, easy to install, easy to use. Yes it's mostly plastic and could be defeated but it's certainly an improvement.. The 'lock' on most door walls can be defeated quickly with a small pry bar. With this installed it's another layer of security that will take more effort, time, and noise. It's easier to utilize several times a day than a 1x2 in the tracks (something I do utilize when on vacation along with a monitored alarm system)Can also see where it would be useful to keep little kids in by mounting higher out of their reach.

I like the fact that it’s made of hard plastic and even though it was to long for my sliding door since I put a doggy door, I was able to cut to fit it perfectly.

So far it keeps the toddlers from escaping to the yard, but still not fully trusting of all plastic construction. Hopefully it doesn't get brittle in winter.

The concept is good but the one side will not stay attached. It's constantly falling down.

Every thing described! Easy to install even for a 72 yr old woman, excellent fit, sturdy and easy to open on inside. Installation video helpful for understanding as well.

First, it's hard to believe that the plastic-like material of this bar is as strong as the manufacturer claims. Assuming it is, my problem is that both the bar and the clip that holds it are secured to the slider frame by Velcro. You must be careful handling the bar so the Velcro doesn't come unattached. There are apparently screw holes in the mountings so you can try to more permanently attach the bar, but I had a problem with the fit that pretty much defeated that possibility. I ally, you are supposed to be able to lengthen or shorten the bar by rotating the inside bar, but I wasn't able to accomplish this.

This product gives a real good piece of mind and was very helpful in securing my sliding glass door. By having it disconnect and able to drop down, let me place it higher and out of reach of my son. Other styles had to fold up so needed to be placed lower. Love this!
