A strong headline yes? Well, I am an expert when it comes to maca. Maca is an adaptogenic plant possessing certain compounds (phenotypes) that can have a powerful effect on human biology. Maca can in many cases produce miracles in one's health if the correct type and quality are selected. Other adaptogens are ginseng, ashwaghanda, holy basil, etc. Adaptogens are unique in that they create a non-specific response in the body and in the case of maca it works to effect the adrenal, hypothalamus & pituitary glands assisting the body to achieve hormonal homeostasis (self-balancing) primarily. It is ALWAYS preferable using a compound that assists homeostasis versus one that forces a change. As in all supplementation today, the bulk of most supplement product claims are utter BS and this is also true of many maca products. Maca is grown at higher elevations in mountainous regions in South America, the best in or near the Peruvian regions. There are numerous types (colors actually) of maca, each possessing different properties that effect both men and women differently and in the case of women it is very important to select your maca based on your reproductive state (repro, pre/post-menopausal). While for men is less specific the same holds true to select the best maca type. All but one maca I am aware of simply give a choice between black, yellow or red maca (the most common types) and most companies offer the same basic/cooky-cutter approach, ie; black for men, red/yellow for women more or less. At my age, even though I lift weights and row, I was losing energy - on the golf course, I just didn't have those 270 yd drives any longer, most were 220-230 on decent contact.I've been looking for answers for strength/energy without going to pharmaceuticals. So I am in a natural grocery and saw this product, got online and looked at the reviews here.Anyway - after 10 days of taking 2 before breakfast, and 2 around 3 pm when my energy goes down, I went out and was hitting golf balls with renewed energy. I didn't understand what had occurred - but this product was the only change I've made over the last 2 weeks. I mean, I was pounding the ball again - I've missed that feeling of strength for 4 years now. Nice to have it back.But still, what I like is my energy levels are up, my mood has evened out and there is less irritability.It may not work for everyone, but it's got something, that is certain.

This product is amazing I'm 36 male workout 5 days a week three out of the five are hit cardio plus weight training with two days being weight training I'm 165lbs this product feels euphoric I take 2 in the am and 2 at 12pm. My pm pre workout stack includes this product and when I'm in the gym i feel like I'm 18 years old at a rave! I'm basically feel like I'm cooler then everyone else I know this sounds conceited but this is honestly how it makes me feel! Best thing is I workout at 6pm workout for an hour and 45 minutes go home and sleep like a bear and wake up like as if I hadn't even slept!!! Just bounce right up!!!! if I was a person that didn't care about hygiene I could just literally put on my clothes and go to work!!!!

I didn't really notice that much of a difference. Especially for the price. I'm taking one now that is 1/3 of the cost and works better.

These things are awesome actually. Pretty pricey to take them like I do, 3 at time, 6 a day typically (which is not reccommended by them). But when I take multiple of these, all the claims are fufilled. I feel energetic as hell and just good overall mood-wise. Good stuff, I wish it was cheaper though.

I purchased my first box of this product at my local Whole Foods. The staff person recommended it when I asked for a Maca supplement. This was earlier this year. I have taken the product regularly for 4-5 months now, purchasing additional boxes through Amazon and at the local Whole Foods.I started with one capsule 2x per day as recommended. After feeling no improvement, I went to two capsules in the morning and one in the afternoon, then to two capsules 2x per day.After going through at least five boxes total, I have yet to experience any improvement in my energy level or libido. Zero, zip, zilch. I am a 54 year old male.Time to look for a different supplement.
