This is a very good book that I think could be a very good starting point for people wishing to try to draw animals. The finished examples are not photorealistic but would enable anyone to get the hang of drawing animals in proportion before taking their own art work in whatever direction that pleases them. However I must point out that having read the discription blurb and buying the book thinking “oooh toucans” there are NO toucan drawing examples in the book!Since writing my review I have noticed the feedback section and have made amazon aware of this misprint.

For drawing praticing improve

I bought this for my 9 year old who is a budding illustrator. She loves the book and it’s made her even more enthusiastic about drawing than ever. I also love the book as it has allowed me-- as someone who only draws stick figures--to see how drawings are composed and to create some artwork also. I can’t get over how easy and accessible the artist has made the drawing of animals for her audience. I’d recommend the book to both children and adults alike!

Heather provides artists' secrets to drawing successfully - a great series of books.

Its nice book but it does not show you how to get to the final color animal, the sketch they gave is very vague and you have to do lots of adjustment with the colors (which does not stated)in order to get that nice final animal they show in the book.
