Which makes no sense to me because desertcart urges you to but both the recovery service and the extended hard drive warranty. After calling they were able to find it and sent it back to me. So all is well that ends well!!! Review: Good price on a safety net - Normally, I don't buy these kind if things, but I figured if the HDD I was using to upgrade the PS4 didn't work and it all went to heck in a hamster-ball, I would like some peace of mind. I've had no issues with the HDD, so I have yet to utilize the actual service. Besides, the price for the service is really fair, all things considered. If things go bad, I'll post an update. Hopefully I won't have to.

Worked great. My hard drive bit it about 2 weeks before this was going to expire. They retrieved all the data. Although they forgot to send me the hard drive back after even though I had told them in the beginning that I need the hard drive back to claim it on the warranty. This apparently is not standard. Only covers EXTERNAL hard drives
Don't bother buying. I bought this for a Seagate Firecude 1TB INTERNAL HARD DRIVE. The HD failed after About a year, I thought I had a virus so I ran test and did a reset on my PC. Come to find out when I just now looked at the warranty it only covers EXTERNAL hard drives. Well this one was an internal hard drive. At least I already backed up my data on a USB and on my OneDrivr account. Don't bother buying this product.

I can only say that I have received the plan! Since it is a data recovery plan I cannot evaluate the plan until or unless I use i!, The delivery seemed a bit late since thee was not actual material to be delivers other that paperwork and perhaps an account setup! So I hope I won't need to use it but if I do I will update the status then!

Almost every drive company has a bad batch once in awhile which goes bad within first ...
For the price well worth it just in case. Data recovery is either troublesome or pricy if I should happen to have a drive failure. Almost every drive company has a bad batch once in awhile which goes bad within first 2 years.

Fair price but only buy after drive is in hand
Fairly priced warranty but the warranty timer did take effect immediately after purchase. Luckily the drive I ordered with this had no shipping delays but if there had been there would have been cause for concern as I would have eaten up a lot of warranty time waiting on the drive (the drive took ~two weeks to arrive without delays)

Peace of mind cheaply
A friend who works on computers suggested that I buy this when I bought a new hard drive for my computer. I am glad I bought it because it gives me peace of mind that I don't have to worry about something going wrong with the new hard drive for at least two years.
