despite the hefty price tag, I was extremely loyal to the soap due to the fact that it kept my eczema at bay. shocked to see the one shipped to me today has new packaging and as you might predict a new ingredient list, I asked ChatGPT to compare the order and new ingredient list and this is what it told me. For eczema-prone, sensitive skin, the new formula is slightly worse overall for these reasons:1. Harsher surfactant: Swapping from Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate (gentler) to Lauryl version may slightly increase irritation risk or dryness.2. Loss of Sunflower Oil: You lose a beneficial, barrier-repairing oil that helps soothe and condition inflamed skin.3. Improvement in Titanium Dioxide: Removal of polyethylene is a small win for simplicity and purity (especially if you’re avoiding microplastics).However:• Addition of Palmitic Acid helps offset some of the richness lost with sunflower oil.

I have VERY sensitive skin -- it reacts to lots of things, and that's made finding a cleanser pretty difficult, particularly for those delicate areas that can be easily thrown off balance. Soap really angers my skin, as do ingredients in several other cleansers. At my dermatologist's office, I was recommended the Xeracalm balm to address some damage done by a bad reaction to another skin product and to reestablish my facial skin's moisture barrier, and that had really helped, so when I saw Amazon also had a cleansing bar in the same line, I decided to give it a go since it said it preserved the microbiome.While the feel of this cleansing bar doesn't strike me as being "ultra-rich" in the sense I normally think of richness in a cleanser (i.e. having a creamy texture and feel) -- in fact, there's a slight degree of texture/graininess I feel (I'm extra aware of texture) -- the bar definitely doesn't strip moisture, and it is something I can actually use to cleanse delicate skin without throwing off the balance. Since I'm also sensitive to perfumes, the fact that this is fragrance-free is a big win, too!While the price is more than I'd have typically paid for a cleansing bar, this one has been totally worth it for me -- it has resolved some skin issues I'd previously been unable to address successfully, and as funny as it sounds to say this about a cleansing bar, I'm really grateful to have found it!

I use this for my body as a starter cleanser (yes I double cleanse my body as well as my face lol) and it's very nice once you get it to lather. The smell is very clean and not over powering. As with all avene products, it's really gentle on the skin and cleanses my body nicely and doesn't take forever to get off the skin as with other bar soaps *cough* *cough* dove *cough* *cough* lol. Definitely recommend this

My skin itches a lot during the winter and I was hoping that this soap would help with that. It is very mild and it is much less drying than regular soap, but it is still not mild enough for my needs. Not sure it is worth the price.

I initially purchased this in June of 2022 when I was experiencing a horrible recurring dry and itchy rash on my entire torso, upper arms, and legs. My doctor recommended I cut fragrance and harsh soaps while we tried to get the problem under control (I never figured out the cause). This soap is fragrance-free and leaves the skin feeling clean without stripping it of natural oils. It does not suds up, so I apply the bar to my skin.Unlike other commenters, I did not notice any grainy texture to the bar; the bar I have is smooth. Since it does not suds, it lasts a long time for me. I do not use this soap daily since I no longer have the rash, but I use it on sensitive skin areas.It is pricey but worth it, especially if you have sensitive or dry skin. I am reordering it to use daily now that it's wintertime.

Finally found the perfect soap for my sensitive skin, leaves skin soft and doesn't have harsh ingredients. Avene is an amazing brand
