I am under physician care due to insulin resistance and was adamant about not take a prescription Rx as I wanted to attempt to reverse through diet and exercise. She then recommended these supplements to support my efforts, starting with 2 per day, working up to 6 per day (can be taken all at once or divided throughout day) and what a difference they made in reducing cravings throughout day by keeping my blood sugar level. I would highly recommend giving these supplements a try before going to a prescribed Rx...within 11 weeks I not only hit my goal weight loss of 20 lbs (slow and steady, the best way to loss), my A1-C level has also gone back down to normal range which indicates the insulin resistance has been reversed at a cellular level. About a year ago my Dr recommended that I take Metabolic Xtra from Pure Encapsulations, which I did and my A1C number came down .3 which they said was huge and a function of the Metabolic Xtra. I didn't believe them, since I think that there are a range of different variables that impact a person's A1C number, but after I stopped taking it my A1C number went up by .4 points. Finally concluding that they likely knew more than I did, I started taking the product again and my A1C number is back down. Not sure how it works in lowering one's A1C number but it does work. It IS pricey, especially needing to take 3 per day, but if my A1C and glucose numbers stay down, it's worth it!

As a thyroid patient I have gotten myself optimal on NDT, iron levels are great, no underlying adrenal issues BUT I cannot lose weight!! After researching I found that us thyroid patients can develop leptin resistance and that inositol and Berberine can help to lower blood sugar and repair the resistance issue. I love PE brand and I tried another product that was just straight Berberine, which worked but when I found metabolic xtra had added chromium, ALA and reservatol I decided to give it a try! I have been losing a pound a day. It's not a miracle, you have to follow a leptin resistance diet avoiding sugar and only eating three meals a day no snacking. But it works better then any other product out there. So I highly recommend this product if you're like me and have leptin resistance!

Pure Encapsulations has the best products in supplements. Only drawback - price could be a little more competitive.

This is an excellent combo of supplements without any extra fillers or things that I’m allergic to. It has helped balance out my blood sugar levels and has helped me lose weight after things got out of whack due to a medication I took last fall. An added bonus is it’s been a really great appetite suppressant for me. My intense sugar cravings completely disappear when I remember to take this pill. Reordering this regularly now!

Manufacturer is charging $47, but Amazon is charging $74. This is either a mistake or a HUGE pricing abuse!

This product is prescribed to me by my Functional Medicine doctor, who also carries this product in his office. I like that it is a combo of 4 supplements in one capsule. I am prediabetic. It works well for me to regulate glucose. I now buy for my sister who was diagnosed as diabetic but reversed it through cutting carbs, exercising & supplementing with Metabolic Xtra.

2nd shipment arrived hot as blazes!!! How effective will this be now? Does excessive summer heat kill the good properties of this? Should be shipped with something to keep it cool...Only Berberine I can tolerate! Excellent product. Two other well known brands by Drs have me reactions. This is only one that I just felt better - PCOS/panic gone!
