Newport Gangster Documentary takes a look at Americas first major gambling town and the factors that led to its ultimate downfall. "This is an amazing story and needed to be told and shared with a large audience" said Eric Haas. "The Gangster Tour in Newport has been so popular and good for city tourism that we knew people would find this story interesting across the country." As part of the documentary the film not only includes historical footage, and photos, but a collection of interviews from Newport residents and area experts. The film highlights the factors contributed to the build up of Newport as the countries premier gambling spot. "One of our favorite elements of this documentary is the parts on George Remus, because he was the real life character that F. Scott Fitzgerald used to create the Great Gatsby." Said Jerry Gels, producer and owner of the Newport Gangster Tour. Started in 2009, the Award Winning Newport Gangster Tour will enter its fourth season this year. Interest in the tour skyrocketed after Southern Living Magazine named it one of the top ten attractions in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The interest in the documentary has prompted a new weekly behind the scenes tour in which tour goers will get a chance to see the inside of many of the buildings that housed many of the Gangster secrets.

Nice little documentary
Nice little documentary. If you are a resident of Northern KY or Cincinnati this is worth checking out. After purchasing it, the DVD has made its rounds through my friends and family. We all enjoyed it.

Newport. Some details left out.
The video was interesting. However, being familiar with the activities that were going on in Newport, I felt that it left out a lot of the interesting material. It was good to see Johnny TV Peluso again. He used to fix our TVs!

Without Newport there would be no Vegas
Im from Newport. Lots of stories heard from others as a child. Monmouth street. York street. My father worked in illegal casinos. Uncles got mixed up in prohibition. Stories of Johnny TV Peluso who helped so many people. I loved how whenever anyone tried to clean up Newport they were "compromised" and convinced to pack their bags. Everybody in Vegas needs to watch this video.
