We bought this to replace one bought earlier. The colour soon fades in sunlight and weather. The material goes stiff and brittle making it fragile and easy to damage - hence the replacement. It does protect the wood.

This seat/storage box was somewhat easy to assemble, the only problem was the instructions said there were predrilled pilot holes, which there were none, luckily enough my son works assembling kitchen units and had the tools to sort it all out, other than that very happy with the seat.
