Is there a warranty? I've only had mine for nine months and it's making awful noises.

There is a 90 day warranty. You may want to check the unit for dust build-up on the fan impellers, that could be causing your noise.

Does this fit the older xbox360 elite?

I don't see this device having the same effectiveness that it does with the 360 S. It's shape matches up with vents on the S model exactly, probably not with the elite though... :(

I just have a couple of questions about this product, is it a matte finish & does it come in the original packaging?

Yes, it is matte black going very well with the non-themed X360 slims. Original packaging and instructions, the factory plastic tape seals were intact when I received mine
