Glad I went with the Bose...
We were looking at either Sonos or Bose. Sonos seems to have established this market... and Bose is the latecomer. However, Bose has a sterling rep for sound systems and is one of the compelling reasons why I have kept my Yukon for so long... it has the best sound system (Bose) of any car I have ever owned. So, it was our experience with Bose that tipped the scale for this purchase. The system is very easy to set up and is absolutely amazing. We only have one at this time... but it is more that enough for our home.Great product.

700 dollar radio player? Really?
I'm actually quite disappointed with my Soundtouch 30. It looks like I just bought a $700 radio player. Clearly (regardless of what Bose tells you, for those who know even a thing or two) there is an issue with Airplay. The product is sold as compatible with Airplay. A Bose quality equipment should not be "compatible" when it is not 100% reliable. Personally, the reason I paid $700 for this is because I wanted something reliable.Plus, not only does it pause frequently when using Airplay, but sometimes it won't even find my Airplay device. If you want reliability when using your iPhone to hear your music, this is not your product. In my case specifically, my laptop purposely hibernates and therefore the app is not able to get my music, which is very annoying considering I was looking for mobility, not having to turn on my computer (and periodically check it to avoid hibernating) everytime I want to hear music. The sound, hmm, that's fine, but nothing that blows you away, which is what I expected from Bose and the price.Lastly, the quality of the app is far from what I expected. Don't call music services when you only have Pandora. Call it "Pandora". By the way, SPOTIFY NEEDS TO BE ADDED!I'm a big Bose fan, but if this is not fixed immediately I will have to (unfortunately) return my Soundtouch 30.

Network / WIFI is total crap
Even though this speaker sounds amazing, everything else makes it a 1 star. Its sounds hands down better then Sonos, no question, but the Wifi is PATHETIC, the software is jenky, and the updates break it. Its lose connectivity on a regular basis for no real reason. I have spent two different 60 minute sessions with technical support, and while they are nice, its the same as everyone else, the connectivity is total crap. The app loses the unit, the unit loses signal and stops streaming, etc. I like the sound and remote control enough to put up with it, but if you are interested in quality of use versus quality of sound go for Sonos for sure.

Bose is the best
My second Bose Soundtouch 30 after 8 years using Soundtouch 20.I'm very happy with this amazing sound.I can't understand why there is nothing like that coming from Bose again.

excellet sound
this is an expensive toy and does not quite live up to the value equation signified by the price. the issue is that the wireless signal drops out.... mine dropped out regularly but after upgrading my wireless router to a top of the line Asus I have more or less fixed the problem. I love the fact that I can select a "radio channel" that can be set up for my favorite artists and then filled in with software selected additions that are usually good choices.Keeping it but buyer beware that it costs extra to buy the top class router.

Sound of a much larger unit
This is top of the line in Bose Sound Touch. It has much deeper bass than the Bose Wave Radios, but both sound very good. Neither make you run screaming from the room in pain. Its required configuration app is easy to use ands the install parallels that of my Apple products - it is easy. Well, why did I give it only 4 stars? The display on the front of unit is too small to read unless you are six feet or less from the unit; There are only six presets, plus Apple's AirPlay; To access music on iTunes or a PC requires the use of one preset AND you must leave the computer on so that the Sound Touch unit can access your selected music playlist; When I am done with the computer, I turn it off. Now, I do have a few friends who leave theirs on all of the time. Also, you must set up a playlist of songs that the Sound Touch unit will use. While this could be your entire library, you are unable to pick the ones you want unless you want to constantly skip ahead or back - not my idea of a fun time. I use the other five presets for Pandora and other internet stations for example. I have whole house wifi, which this unit uses. My wifi is through an Apple Airport Extreme with a Cisco Docsis 3.0 router, which conforms to a higher speed. I like the AirPlay - but I have an iPad. I can keep it at arm's reach and select what I what to hear. None of the presets are used, as AirPlay overrides everything. I am unaware of any PC version of AirPlay, but then I try to avoid anything PC related. I like the Sound Touch 30, but do not use it that much. I have two Bose Companion 5 systems for the two Apple computers. These speakers (two satellites and a sub) easily equal or surpass the performance and sound quality of the Sound Touch 30, but the computer must be on, which of course it is, as I am sitting in front of it listening to the music. Also, I have two Apple TVs which will access music and video. So, I can also listen to music from them or steam my iTunes through them to one of the TVs and then through their speakers. The remote is easy to use with soft buttons that actually provide a tactile feel. It has good range. While there are presets on the Sound Touch 30 also, if you are in front of the unit, I always use the remote. If the price is not too off putting this is an excellent and easy to use unit that sounds quite good.

LOVE IT! Great sound, very powerful, easy to set up
LOVE IT! Just came in yesterday, took about 5 minutes to set up and have been enjoying it all day. Paired it up with our Pandora account, and our iTunes account, and now have access to all the music we want. We have a very large, open concept house and it fills the top two floors (approx 3,600 sq ft) with music, no problem. Sounds great even at high volumes. Absolutely love it!!
