work well as an extender with good quality HD pictures & sound
Sadly this product does not appear to used standard IP data to comunicate between the transmitter and the receiver units and will not work on a standard home network as I was hoping it would. it does however, work well as an extender with good quality HD pictures & sound.I would be happier with the Amazon page listing this product if it were made clearer which protocol the extender used, so that the buyers would know exactly whether it could be used via an ethernet LAN system or not. Both transmitter & Receiver units feel solid and well made and work well provided you can run a single dedicated cable between them.

Finally Success
Tried a different company. Wasn’t very good. Picture would keep freezing on tv. This purchase worked perfectly over Cat5 cable.

Nice clear picture
Connected to cat6 cable. Plugged into power on transmitter side. Only connected to cable on receiver end. About a 50 foot length. Picture and sound is perfect

So far so good!
Just set this up today and it was as easy as I thought it would be.Picture quality over about 75ft is amazing, no audio cutting, IR works perfect.Luckily I had a cable run from my furnace room (where cable box now is) to living room TV. That cable going between 2 points is going though a Patch Panel and then I’m using patch cords on each ends to connect to each unit. Still no issues! This is only my first day of using it but so far no issues. My intent behind purchase was to have my new satellite box sit in the basement (only place I am able to get COAX to) and then send the video output from it upstairs to my TV. So far it’s looking like this will do just that :)

Expensive compared to other options, but works perfectly for 4K w/ HDR
I had originally purchased the 4K 4:2:0 model (not HDR compliant) to extend the signal from my 4K Blu-ray player to my new QLED 65". I thought $125 was a high price to pay, but bit the bullet. I couldn't get video to transmit unless I handicapped the video quality in the device settings significantly. I determined with the assistance of a J-Tech support rep that this was truly expected based on the specs of the non-HDR pair. So, I took a deep breath and bought the 4:4:4 HDR model for double the price, and video transmits beautifully and flawlessly. I have been using them for over a year with zero issues, other than my IR transmitter/receiver doesn't seem to work. This isn't a big deal for me, but if it is for you, take that with a bit of caution.I have these in use on either end of a 25' shielded Cat6 run. They do run a bit hot, but they're pushing ~18GB/sec, so I give them some grace. Bottom line - if you want to get the full benefit of your brand spanking new 4K HDR TV, and you need tx/rx baluns, you will need to pony up. I took a chance with J-Tech, and their performance has matched the reviews. Excellent!
