Bottom line: Incredible Value. Great control, good S:N, adequate construction. Oh, and 8 years old!
Overall, I don't think you can get a better electronic crossover for less than twice what amazon charges for this. I am only using it to tune by auto subwoofers since my amps don't allow for enough control. I can't say if this is clean enough for the high-level channels of a hi-fi system, but it handles bass cleanly. I wanted variable frequency and amplitude low frequency boost combined with an adjustable 12db crossover. Add in stereo/mono switching, multiple source control, plus phase selection and you have an ideal recipe for tuning your subs. I disassembled the unit and am quite pleased with the circuit board quality. The unit's power draw is less than 2 amps, so I can run it off my remote power amp relay and don't need to run a separate power wire. However, there is much room for improvement in the build quality of the case and switches. I would like to see the next model feature a more rugged body, flush mounted dials (so they can't get broken by stuff in the trunk), and perhaps some flexible mounting options. Oh, and I wish this thing was about 1/3 smaller.Pros:-Clean power-Great features-Decent build quality for the $$$-Soft power control-Very inexpensiveCons:-It's pretty big-Dials are not flush mounted (unprotected)-Kinda flimsy shell-Flashing chrome logo on shellUpdate, 8 years later and still working as new firmly mounted in my BMW trunk (which is still on the road as a daily driver).

Significantly improved sound quality
Construction isn't top notch, made of plastic, but ease of installation and improvement to sound quality was easy and superb. Definitely recommend for anyone looking to improve sound quality

A must have
The absolute most bang for my buck I've ever gotten on any car audio item. I have a 2014 ram 1500 R/t , the truck came with the Alpine premium stereo and i wanted to keep the factory 8.4 touch screen head unit. The system needed some low end so i had a old 8" bazooka tube & crapy little 2 channel sub amp ... bought a audio control LC2i and got it to work with the factory system. However it sounded horrible !!! i had VERY limited control over the frequency curve it was way to boomy and by that i mean upper bass notes ( 120-200 hz ) would pop thru, it just sounded like crap and was unusable. This $28 crossover fixed my issues, i bought the 2 channel version and i am just using it to dial in my sub. Seems to be clean and quiet. I now know a crossover would of helped clean up sub/low end on some of my older systems. I'd call this a must have for any level of car audio system.

Inexpensive vs cheap... this is CHEAP...
I added this to a complete CT sound install to help ensure clarity from my music signal. My HU (head unit) is not high end so crossing over certain freq before it hits the amp was better than counting on the radio to do it.Initially the audio was nice and I enjoyed the sound but after a few weeks I noticed songs started having this weird sound to them and I swore my CT sound components in the front and 6X9's in the rear were suffering from the volume I listen to them at. The amp power vs speaker rating says they'll never be pushed beyond peek ratings but I wasn't sure. The CT sound 4 channel amp on my speakers was distortion tested as well as my head unit and got my system tuned but that weird sound continued. Two days later the rear channel on the crossover went out. I split the front signal to the amp and the odd sound went away. A month later the front channel started doing the same thing. I ran the audio direct from the HU to the amp and got rid of the issue. Only the bass channel at this point works. I was past warranty so I'm just out some money. Don't buy this cause too many others had the same issue. Inexpensive stuff is cool but not when it's just cheap...

Defective, but a good deal if it works...
Got this installed and discovered that if I plugged the bass control knob into the crossover, I would get an obnoxiously loud hum. Remove the knob and THAT hum was gone. However, I couldn't turn the sub output level up past 1 or I would still get a constant hum from my subs. This is not a ground loop issue as my grounds are all solid and there was no static/noise from the last 20-year-old crossover I was using.Anyhow, I started the return/replacement process and life got in the way, making me miss the 30-day window by a couple of weeks. The seller wouldn't replace the unit since it was past the window, but recommended that I deal with SSL customer service. They said they work closely with SSL to make sure warranties are taken care of. We'll see. I sent the issue to SSL with my proof of purchase and am waiting to hear back from them. All that being said, at usable levels, this crossover actually sounds pretty decent, otherwise I'd have just chalked this up as a loss and gone with a much better-quality crossover from a well-known brand. I'll give the warranty a shot. If I get a working unit, I'll be happy and may change my review. If I don't, well...

Great processor at a steal of a price!
After several years it's been a top notch performer considering how cheap I've gone with about 2/3 of my components.Competition sub, cheapo but flagship model Boss amp burped at I think 700+ watts RMS last time I toyed with it. The slopes are as stated but leave something to be desired since I can get some distortion when pushed hard. Circuit devices, meaning caps, resistors etc. have their limitations where the voltage pressure is such that your 12db or 24db etc. is reduced by 30 or 40 or even 60% which is what happens when I crank my system due to ever changing music video volumes. For 30 bucks though!?Ironically if you have better components than I do for full range amps, head unit and full range speakers you would get 10x what I do out of this and I have no real complaints. I am however looking to replace it with another budget model in the 60 to tops, $100 range but may just open it up and mod it since I have the education to do so.
