No, it does not come with a grid.

Q: Will the Nikon D90 still trigger the SB600 while inside the softbox?

Yes, using the commander mode and with the SB600 set to wireless mode. I've done this many shoots.

Q: I have a Youngnou 622 trigger with the flash will the pair allow the flash head to still fit inside? this would take care of having to change settings and removing the baffle bacuse the setting can be set remotely. Thanks! Also is the mount a metal one?

I am not sure what you mean by a metal one but I have used this soft box with 3xCanon 580ex speedlights with PocketWizard flextt5 attached with a tri flash mount. This soft box is as sturdy as any other name brand on the market for a fraction of the cost.

Yes it is short but it does work. At least for me. Total length is 15.4" After the umbrella clicks into place you'll have about 11" inches to work with.
