The Wilde One Paperback – September 7, 2017

Let me just start by saying I am a huge huge fan of Ms Contreras and when I found out she was revamping this book I was soooo excited! Seriously LURVE her! She hits another home run with The Wilde One! I was so drawn into the story. It’s tragic, it’s heartbreaking, but it’s also smoking hot! I did not want this book to end and sad that it is a standalone we won’t be getting more from their story as there is still so much I want to know! They are characters that came to life with real struggles. Even though life looks perfect, when you look closer, you see that is horribly flawed.We have Brooklyn, the rich girl that seems to have it all. Except the one thing she so desperately wants, the love of her family. Her Mother is an ex-model who is all about the appearances and her Father is the head of highly successful record company. She lives the life of privilege but with it comes a cost. She is close to only a handful of people. One being Shea, they attempted a relationship several years ago but decided the only thing that always bought them together was drugs. In the process, he shot to super stardom rock God. Is story is heartbreaking and this is one I would love to see a spinoff of. I have such a weakness for the misguided rock god! Him and Brooklyn haven been through so much and their friendship will be tested more than once. With Shea comes his hottie producer Nick. Brooklyn is instantly drawn to him. He has the reputation of a love him and leave him type of guy and Brooklyn isn’t ready to be a notch on his bed post.Will Brooklyn and Nick be able to have a lasting relationship, or will the ever present Shea come between them? Will Brooklyn able to work through her issues and be truly happy? You will need to read to find out! I hope several characters get their own books because I just loved them all… even with the flaws. There were so many things that were unexpected that right when I think I had things figured out, I was proven wrong. I love a book that keeps me on toes and does not lead you down a road of predictability and this one does that! Huge 5 star read for me!

My good friend suggested this read after she finished it and I am so happy she did. I love a Rock Star kind of book, this is sort of a love triangle- Rock Star, Producer, and Rich Girl. Scary how easy it is for the rich and famous to fall down a very dark path with so little supervision by their parents and too much access to everything. Loved this book a lot. Brooklyn has grown up with everything and fought her way back to being who she wants to be. Nick is trying to get out from his father's shadow. Shea is Brooklyn's past but her promise to always be there for him can really drag her back down that dark path. Incredible story

I need more stars for this book!Chemistry & Sexual tension was off the charts! Had me swooning like it was going out of style.I am beyond happy I read this. I wish I'd read it sooner. A story with so much truth, passion and life I just couldn't get enough.Nick is hot! and Brooklyn is so special, words fail me.This author has given me another amazing story! She's like the gift that keeps on giving.Mind blowing! So many characters to love. Every single one of them was well developed that even the smallest role took my heart.

I really wanted to enjoy this book - I liked the premise but found myself skimming from about half way. Lots of drama and internal monologue. I liked Nick but found it hard to relate to Brooklyn, I thought she was immature for her age and life experiences. There were a few inconsistencies throughout. This story deals wth sensitive issues.

I read this book some time ago and just fell in love with Nick Wilde. I've read a lot of Claire's books. And even though I love all her angst love stories, Shadow is my favorite. Being there for someone who is still trying to find their place in the world, is such a beautiful thing. (P.S. Wonder if "Jorel" was anywhere near the baby's name )

I meant to pick up the new book, Then There Was You, but ended up choosing this one instead. And I’m so glad. It was so good. I thoroughly enjoyed it, through all the ups and downs, through the steamy moments and the sad moments and everything in between. The last parts of this book, though!! I can’t tell you how many times I must have screamed, “What the f***, Claire?!” Legit. Out loud. Numerous times. The surprises kept coming. But in the end, I loved it. Thanks for an awesome read.

This was a great read, I loved the chemistry between the characters, I ached for BK, I know someone who died because drugs ruined their lives and they did kill themselves so this resonated with me on a very deep level.

Sad that it ended. I definitely was not disappointed!! Wish I was able to have read this during hurricane Irma. This would've been the best distraction. I enjoyed the plot twists & the extras at the end. I really fell in love with all the characters. I'm extremely happy that Shea was given a second chance & found love. Brooklyn & Nick's story was the best!!

Another fabulous read by Claire contreras, her books never disappoint. Tricky topics to cover, suicide and depression but really well written. You really feel all their emotions, I cried and laughed and lost count of the goosebumps! Loved this book, such great characters. Couldn’t put it down.Brooklyn has a really complicated relationship with her parents, which causes her to have loads of issues. She finds herself constantly fighting for their love and affection, which she desperately craves. Brooklyn works for her father’s company and meets Nick. The first person to ever really see her and want her for her. Their attraction is instant and the chemistry between them is off the charts. So much happens in this book! There’s lust, longing, loss and so much love. What a rollercoaster of emotions, didn’t want the book to end.
