Hair Combs - Fine Tooth Detangling Wooden Tail Comb - No Static Natural Sandalwood Buffalo Horn Comb for Women

This comb smells amazing in the natural aromatic green sandalwood option. The wooden surface is easy to clean by wiping with a soft damp cloth & an occasional rub down with a small amount of neutral smelling oil like grapeseed. A lot of people recommend olive or linseed but I feel that they ruin the beautiful sandalwood scent. Over time the scent is weakened & can be revived with a light fine grit sandpaper & an oil rub to replenish the sheen of the natural hardwood. This comb does not give you static. I had static once since buying this comb from a wool pullover sweater & using the comb with a spritz of leave in conditioner instantly removed the static. The rat tail end is not pointy enough to poke you but is very precise & feels a little like a massage when you glide it over your scalp to make a part. The teeth are just the right for my hair type (fine silky strands but very high density) & it's good for working tangles out of my hair. While this is very well made it's not indestructible like metal combs & it will break if you are too rough & try force it through a tricky knot. If you have wavy or curly hair get the wide tooth option. My hair is wavy when air dried & straight when blow dried, & I use the fine tooth for blow dry days & the wide tooth for wavy days. Using the fine tooth on waves or curls will make a vintage Hollywood look if that's what you're going for.

I'm actually here to buy another one after five years. My hair is just above my waist and this combs through with minimal breakage and leaves my hair evenly shiny almost to the very end. I have a lot of hair strands, but they are baby fine so most combs and brushes will leave me with a small handful of breakage.I also find the size, rat tail handle, and teeth spacing are perfect for all my different twisted and braided styles. I can easily and neatly divide out the different sections as I handle them. At the end I am able to gently smooth areas that didn't cooperate perfectly during the braiding and twisting.I will point out again that I am here to purchase a new comb after 5 years. It still works but in a house with 4 other long haired women it sometimes wanders off, so I am getting a backup.

I bought one of these years ago. I've abused it, up to and including using it to dye my hair. It's gotten slightly darker in color but otherwise been impervious. No splinters or chips--completely smooth. Perfect for my short hair, including parting and combing into place. I thought I lost mine on a recent trip and panic bought a second one before I found the original. The new one is just as good, which is not something you can always say about an amazon product. Very happy and would buy more, but these show no signs of needing to be replaced. Excellent value. Attractive comb. Less crappy plastic combs in the world.

It is a work of art. I have 4 wooden combs, one I’ve used for 8 years. One drop of this one broke the tip of the rat tail. The second drop of 3 feet into a sink, broke off 3 times. Into the trash it had to go. Is this their fault? No. Would I repurchase? No. Would I buy the wide tooth, wooden combs? Yes.

UPDATE 12/18/2022 Its been almost 5 years and I still love this comb! Sadly I dropped it against a stone floor and one of the tines broke off. Re-ordering because I’ve enjoyed my comb so much, its the only comb/brush I use on my wavy hair.So I have had this comb for about 3 weeks now. I had done lots of research on ways to help improve the softness and manageability of my hair. At the same time as the purchase of this comb, I bought myself a couple a silk pillowcases and while I know those have contributed to the total transformation of my hair, I CANNOT express how WONDERFUL this comb is! I received the comb in a timely manner, it was well packaged, and could definitely be a wonderful gift it is packaged so well. The comb is beautiful and has a nice sandalwood handle with sheep horn comb teeth. In doing research to find a better way to untangle my hair I stumbled across horn combs, people said they wouldn't catch as much in your hair and didn't cause static, leaving your hair with less breakage, smoothness and manageable. Owners also said to NOT use this comb with wet hair, and to oil it frequently.When the comb arrived it was a light colored sandalwood, but I wanted to make sure it was well oiled before attempting to use it, as I planned on using it on damp (not wet) hair for styling purposes. Apparently a wet horn comb will start to stink and decay and I didn't want my purchase ruined. I placed it a ziploc bag with some grape seed oil, as it is unscented and I didn't want to ruin the smell of the sandalwood. I let it sit overnight and by the next morning it had absorbed most of the oil. I wiped it down with a tissue to remove the excess oil and it looked darker in color but still beautiful.This comb simply GLIDES through my hair! for years I had used a plastic rat-tail comb for styling and taking out knots, I hadn't even realized before using this comb, that my hair was actually catching on the rough surface of the plastic comb. My hair is so much smoother, shinier, and oh so soft, no static anymore either which is hard to believe living in a desert climate. I will never use another type of comb again!

I opened this package and was amazed by the aromatic smell and the golden packaging! The golden colours definitely made me think of ancient China — like this comb came straight from there! The construction looks sturdy, probably sturdier than the pictures make it seem, though I haven’t tried out this product yet.
