Great product! It's simplified my workflow.
Let's start with the bad and get that out of the way. The harness came with the wrong instructions and I had to use the box to figure out how to put this thing together. There are extra parts depending on how you want to use the harness (which made it VERY confusing) so I had to use some trial and error to figure it out. After about 15 minutes I packed it up and decided I was going to send it back. However, the next day I decided to sit down and give it another try. Once I figured it out it's really VERY SIMPLE. If I had the correct instructions, it would have been much easier (obviously) so I have deducted a star because of poor packaging QC. They should know better and catch these things.Anyway. Now on to the positive.I LOVE LOVE LOVE this thing. It has changed my whole workflow around my studio. I work with a lot of props and do move things around and it was always a pain to put my camera down, move things around, pick the camera up, etc. This harness changes all that. Once you put everything together and adjust the harness to fit...it's super easy. There is a little 'disc' that screws into the tripod location on the bottom of your camera. This 'disc' easily slips into the holster. You have to slip the 'disc' into the holster at a 90 degree angle for it to engage and then the camera straightens out along your thigh. This ensures that the camera will not just 'bump' out of the holster. In addition (as I get nervous just having a screw holding my camera to the holster) there is a secondary system that consists of a tether that clips on to the neck strap holder on the camera. That way you have redundancy in the system to prevent drops. The secondary system also ensures that if you drop the camera yourself...it will help to catch it when not in the holster. My camera body is a 5DMIII and I have a whole bevy of L lenses that I use. I feel confident with all of them 100%! When shooting outdoors and moving around or when in the studio. I would recommend this to anyone.(It also looks a little less 'dorky' than the full vest option however, 'looks' are of minimal concern when dealing with thousands of dollars of camera equipment)I posted a picture of me wearing the harness so you can get an idea of what it looks like.**As a final note. There are cheaper products out there. However, with the amount of money that I have spent on my camera equipment...spending the difference for a quality product like this is negligible and much better for peace of mind.

I think a more professional type of photographer would like this strap
I wish I could return. So complicated....I would never be able to use this strap. It came in pieces and out of the box. Must have been a rough traveling trip to me. I think a more professional type of photographer would like this strap. I've been a photographer for 35 years, professionally, but I guess I'm just not that technical.

Not nearly as secure as it feels - almost lost it all!!!
In 8 years as a buyer and seller on Amazon I've never written a review of a product. While I thought this product appeared and felt very secure on my second day on a shoot I nearly lost $4000 plus in equipment (canon 7d / 70-200mm f 2.8l is II plus accessories) over the edge on a climb. I wore it fairly tight to keep over 20lbs of equipment on my waist and another 7d with a 16-35mm f/2.8L II on a separate shoulder strap. If it weren't for my hand being in the right place when the front strap came undone then I would have lost it all down the mountain side. Both the front, and back buckle is held securely by means of a friction type strap and buckle, ( the kind where the strap goes through, under and over the buckle) if they are not tightened up to the point of "uncomfortably too tight" then the entire strap can pull out of the buckle. When it happened I checked online to see if there was some way that I used it improperly and it was threaded correctly and from the manufacturers website it even shows in the video that the front buckle is overlapped a second time which is not the way the buckle type is set up.I nearly lost $4000 worth of equipment with this product - it felt very secure but it turned out that it was a false sense of security. Possibly a very costly one as well.On another note, I would use the holster on a more secure belt - great holster, worked perfectly on its own.

AMAZING Product!
It took me awhile to actually purchase this item since I kept debating between this and a camera sling, but once I got this I fell IN LOVE with it!!! I can't believe I have been working sessions, events, and weddings without this! It takes the pressure off your neck and back, has the tether for added security from accidental drops, and the convenient holster when you're not actively shooting. It does allow for putting another camera holster on and carrying two camera bodies, but I have not done that. I have put an additional lens in my LowePro bag attached to the cotton carrier belt on my other hip to make it easier to change lenses quickly and it has proven useful and helps balance out the weight of the camera when it is holstered. You can run with your camera in the holster since it is extremely secure, but it is not comfortable to do. I do like that when the camera is in the locked position the lens faces down and is more secure from getting hit or bumped into, but I have noticed that when I wear it with my 70-200mm lens it sometimes gets in the way when I walk since it tends to move a little hitting my leg more than with other prime lenses or smaller zoom lenses like a 24-70mm.Overall, I am very happy with my Cotton Carrier Carry Lite and highly recommend it to other photographers!

Great product for SLRs.
I bought this for a 22 day trip to China and a subsequent cruise from Shanghai to Vancouver. I could not be happier with it. It takes a little practice to slip the camera into the holder, but suddenly you are hands free, and don't have to worry about dropping or bouncing you camera while you are moving around. The belt and harness is very comfortable, and it is especially handy when in security lines, since there is not enough metal on the device to set off the detectors. Only once did I have to remove it, and that took only seconds. It also allows you to use your carry-on for other items, and isn't ever noticed by aircraft crew. The only complaint I have is that they should have included information cards to hand out to curious people. I must have given the information to 20 people in every country we visited. Great product.
