Love how using different weights and hooks gives all the different sizes. This is very well explained in the book.

The books has lots of amigurumi and the pattern go from pretty basic to more challenging. The book is great value for money

I like the fact that the base for the toys is a standard pattern with occasional variations and then the finishing touches are different for each. As a relatively new crocheter this has built my confidence and techniques. The end result is gorgeous and I find myself looking and thinking i can't believe i made that!

easy to follow patterns which are divided into beginner, intermediate and advancedI'm an amateur crocheter and made the woodmouse quite easily.

Recommended yarn is rather pricey. If I had used the reccomended yarn on every pattern I'd take a good few years to complete it based on saving up for the yarn alone. But there is some helpful information provided on what to expect and how to adapt the project for different weights and types of yarn.I used a 4ply cotton yarn and so while the results are not identical to the pictures, and bearing in mind I am not nearly as experienced and skilled at crochet as the author is, I'd say the results are quite good.I've also noticed an improvement in my skills as I've continued along. The book makes for good practise. I'd argue that the standard body and limbs are more suitable for some patterns than others.

Love this book. Good explanations etc. Animals are lovely.
