Caution - Licefree shampoo and spray caused major alergic reaction (rash/hives)
I purchased the Licefree spray and shampoo because we had a recurring lice problem (you get rid of it, kids get it again at school) and I didn't want to use the chemical Nix type of products on a recurring basis. I was hoping that the Licefree products would kill the lice but be gentle, especially on the kids. I first tried the spray, left it in until dry as directed. I did feel some relief the next day (much less itching), but it's always tough to know if the lice are completely gone. So for a safety measure I used the shampoo a few days later, hoping to kill any that may have hatched. I got a terrible rash on my neck and scalp from the shampoo. It tool several days for it to go away. Several weeks later, feeling the buggers creeping in again and getting more and more itchy, I tried the spray again since I didn't have the rash using it the first time. But this time I did. I ended up at the Doctor's office with a severe allergic reaction (hives all over my neck and scalp). I see many good reviews here, which is why I decided to try it, and I don't see other reviewers posting about reactions to the product, so I wanted to post my review so that others who may have sensitive skin or be prone to reactions to hair products, could be aware and be cautious. Note, I do not usually have sensitive skin, I don't usually have problems with hair products, and even I had the issue so it could be problematic for those with sensitive skin. I'm not sure what testing the company has done as compared to other major brands.

It has only been a couple of weeks but I am optimistic since it has the same ingredients as the lice freee spray and that stuff
So excited to find this shampoo. My daughter's preschool has been passing the lice around. I do a thorough comb out once a week with a lice comb and we were using the Fairytales shampoo and conditioner and hairspray everyday and I still found nits in my daughters hair so that stuff doesn't work at all. I wanted something that will kill the lice if they are in there, not just repel and I think this fits the bill. Now we use this every night and we have had 3 more cases at preschool but my daughter has been lice free. It has only been a couple of weeks but I am optimistic since it has the same ingredients as the lice freee spray and that stuff works great!

Haven't got it back yet
My son's kindergarten class keeps passing lice back and forth. My son got it twice and I started looking into prevention after he got it the 2nd time because i couldn't take it anymore. This shampoo doesn't smell bad (some of them smell like citronella) and it works! The rest of the class is still passing it back and forth but they seem to be staying away from my son. Thank you Licefreee! Seems like with the use of this shampoo we will stay in the clear.

It works! Bring it back!
I have spoken personally with the Licefreee company and found out that they have discontinued this, but it works great! My daughter has been in the same class as a student that always gets sent home for a live lice infestation and this shampoo has kept them away from our whole family!

Effective for prevention.
I have been using this once a week to keep the horrid critters away and so far so good! I don't use it more than once a week because it isn't as gentle on my hair as my regular shampoo. I have colored hair so that is the main issue.

The best
This is the only product I buy if my kids get lice.
