Phenomenal Tool!
I had used Sizzix before with many bulky boxes of dies, where you have to hunt for just the right one, and the heavy cutting machine. It was a pain. The Cricut is absolutely awesome. It doesn't take up much space on my work table and it's so easy to use that I pulled it out of the box and started cutting words without reading the instructions (the only thing that requires attention is when you first put the blade in). You just put your paper on the sticky cutting pad, hit a button to load, type in your word or shapes, and hit cut. You pull it out and peel your beautifully cut items off the cutting pad. I use Bazzill cardstock all the time and it cuts it perfectly. Since then I've filled up 12x12s, mini books, and cards with letters, daisies, sliders...you name it! The varied sizing makes it so easy to get exactly the size you need for your project. I used to struggle with titles...not any more! This is the ultimate gift for a scrapbooker and my husband earned a lot of brownie points when he got this for my birthday!

Cricut 29-0001
Bought this for my grandaughter who is 10 yrs.old we have used it to cut & also purchased the markers to make signs.Very pleased with its performance using both. She can do school projects plus she loves to craft.Easy to use I told her once how to cut with it and she was off on her own. When she wanted to use the markers I told her to take the blade out & replace it with the marker & she was off & running again.I would buy extra blades if I were you because they will dull if you use your machine alot.Great machine for so many things wish I had one when I was in school doing science fairs.Shipping was also quicker than I thought it would be. I ordered on a thurs. & received it that following mon.

Arrived Damage but Didn't Notice until Months Later
I wasn't able to open the package until 3 months later - lots of travelling for work and it was going to be a treat for me when I had time off 3 months down the road. Big mistake. The operating arm was broken. Since I waited so long to open the package I didn't think I could return it and I got busy again. Basically a year later, my down time, I went to Walmart and purchased a another one. The bigger one that cost more. I would have loved if this one would have worked because I liked the small size a lot. So basically my fault for not opening the package right away and not trying to get a refund after I did. If I ever need to buy another one I will buy it directly from a store like Walmart.

Don't buy this
Works ok for the most part, gets quirky trying to scan documents.

So easy a first grader can do it
I bought the Cricut Personal Cutting Machine primarily for my daughter and granddaughter who are scrapbooking together. It will live at my daughter's house, but it will be available to me when I need it. (I make greeting cards.) I easily taught my granddaughter, who is a first-grader, to use the system with adult supervision. We agreed she should tie back her long hair for safety and keep fingers clear of the working parts. With my help and supervision, she was quickly selecting shapes and sizes and cutting the shapes she wanted. She understood the use of the shift key and also the creative features. We won't let her use the system alone until she is quite a bit older, but the user interface and operation of the machine is very simple once the machine is set up. My granddaughter was so enthusiastic about her experience that she wanted to be the one to teach her mother how to use it. We all love the Cricut.

Not so sure how I feel about this machine...
I like the Cricut concept and I do think their machines can do cool things. However, I'm not a fan of the company. They don't seem to provide much readily available information about their products, including simple instructions on how to use it. I've found that whenever I have a question there is no point in looking in the manual that comes with each cartridge because the only want to find an answer is to spend hours searching online in forums and crafter blogs. I tried emailing the company once with a question and it took them days to respond and then their answer was inaccurate. It's starting to seem like the hassel of learning how to work this system is not worth the trouble but we'll see. I feel that the product is capable of much more than they are willing to show us.

The Cricut Cutter
I ordered the personal cutting machine because I didn't want it to take up a lot of room and wanted to be able to move it easily. I am a preschool teacher and scrapbooker and this product has been wonderful. I love how easy it is to use, my 5 year old can use it with ease. I can move it back and forth between my preschool and my home with no problems. I think you get a lot for the money and look forward to buying more cartridges.

Not a good buy for daycare and school projects
I bought this because I saw the great reviews on it, but I regret my decision. I work at a daycare center where cutout tools like these are very useful. However this took up more time than tracing and cutting it by hand. There are multiple reasons why I do not like this product 1. The paper pad looses it's stickiness within 5- 6 uses. 2. You always have to hold down the paper to have it cut better. However even holding it down does not ensure a proper cut. 3. It takes multiple attempts and a lot of time to try to get it to cut correctly even when I try playing with the settings to lower pressure or speed. 4. It takes up a lot of paper for a couple of letters because the spaces between each letter is too wide. For anyone planning to use this heavily for bulletin boards and daycare centers, I do not recommend this machine. It has been more of a hindrance than it has been helpful.
