I used it on brass, copper, chrome, and even some mystery metal that had been ignored for years. I have a stainless steel fridge that’s less than three years old, but rust stains were starting to make it look much older. I finally decided to try Brasso Stainless Steel Cleaner, and I’m honestly impressed. With very little effort, the rust stains came right off and the fridge looks almost new again. Letting the product soak for a bit definitely makes the cleaning even easier and improves the results. I’d say this was cleaned in 15 minutes. The only downside is the strong ammonia smell, so I recommend using it in a well-ventilated area. Other than that, this product delivers amazing results and does exactly what it promises. I’d definitely use it again for tough stainless steel stains.

As a deep cleaner and polisher for a large 50 year old brass handle, it worked absolutely great. This handle not only had 50 years of dirt and oxidation, but also had paint, stain, and varnish all over it bc the previous owner didn’t bother to remove the piece from the door whenever they did anything to the door. This handle has easy to remove screws too, so there was no excuse. It is very ornate too with a lot of crevices so it was everywhere. Worked like a charm, easy to use, worked relatively quickly. Use a toothbrush for best results as ornate pieces won’t be helped by a cloth unless it’s flat. The varnish was the most difficult thing to remove, in some spots I had to let it sit for 10 minutes in a second application, but it all came off! BTW, if you just have a bit of dirt and oxidation, this may be overkill as it is strong (it has ammonia in it) but for tough jobs like the one I had, it’s great. (A polish alone without ammonia would be better for much easier jobs and for maintenance.)

Product works very well, and easy to use. The only downside is the smell, it is very strong, so if you are scent sensitive, I would suggest something that is ammonia free.

I found an old copper teapot at a thrift store that was terribly tarnished! I’d never cleaned copper before, but I knew I could try. I ordered Brasso Multi-Purpose Metal Polish, and it arrived the next day. With a little elbow grease, I started seeing real progress. While cleaning the bottom, I noticed it was stamped “Made in England” with a patent number—turns out it’s from around 1901! What a great find, and this product really helped bring it back to life. The polish is effective, safe to use, in a leak proof bottle and gives a nice shine. That said, even with Brasso, cleaning a badly tarnished item takes time and effort, but the results are worth it. Overall, I’m very happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone restoring copper pieces.
