Fear is GOOD
Must read!!! I always thought love for God and Jesus and being born again replaced the fear, wow was I wrong. You can't have one without the other. This is the second book I've read by John Bevete and both books I know will forever impact my faith and life as a blessing. Fear of God is a GOOD thing, it's a eternal must, it's a key to everything else. I first felt fear and fear of judgement day when I read Driven by Eternity, the fear was so intense all I could do was cry. It's also a must read. While this book helped me understand that fear on another level. It all makes perfect sense now. It doesn't matter how long you've believed or not believed this book is for everyone. Read it yourself first, book club it or use it in a bible study and gift it to others. That's what I want to do when I read John Bevere because he is that good. He's teaching what others don't or white wash over, the much needed uncomfortable but beautiful merciful truly gracious side of faith. This book will deepen your faith. Without Fear we truly have nothing, the bible says so and we must never forget that or think loving God replaces Fear.

Could be a life changer
What a great book that makes you think. It will take 6 weeks to read the devotional. Or it could take 3 weeks if you do 2 lessons a day. This book will make you think about how you look at God! How he looks at you.

The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom
The first book by this author that I read was “Driven by Eternity.” I was so impacted by the book and knew without a shadow of a doubt that it is truly a message that was divinely-inspired. So when I came across this book on the fear of the Lord, I was eager to read through it to see how else I could be challenged in my walk with the Lord. Not only have I had to examine myself through the practical examples in the book of how we do not honor God, but I have also gotten to understand that the intimacy I keep craving for with God has eluded me because I didn’t have the fear of God in me. In fact, God not answering my past prayers about wanting to see His glory in the past was an act of mercy on His part because as you will learn from the book, the manifestation of God’s glory is always preceded by divine order (which I didn’t have) but that divine glory is often followed by divine judgement. The swiftness and degree of divine judgment is always in proportion to the degree of divine glory that has been revealed. Without the fear of God, I was going to be a candidate for divine judgment if I had experienced the divine glory! In all, this is a massive wake up call to the church today and we will do well to keep this truth in our hearts.

Easy read, challenging book
Wow! I just finished this book for the first time but it will not be the last time. As a whole, I feel that Christians in the church have fallen into one of two groups in regards to the subject of fearing the Lord; one believes that God is watching closely only to catch us in our sin and then punish us so we must fear him, and the other believes that to fear God at all is nonsense because God has not given us a spirit of fear. This book does an amazing job in not only explaining the biblical concept of ‘the fear of’ vs. ‘being afraid of’ God, it also aids the reader in understanding how and why we should fear The Lord. Ultimately, when we begin to fear the Lord biblically we become more intimately connected to him.“The Fear of The Lord” is a must read for all believers.

Good book
Very good book. At times stretches the context of Scripture but the overall point inks well made that we need to have more reverence and respect for God.
