Pretty good, but be careful about the SD card you choose
Overall I am pleased with this product. What stops me from giving five stars is the fact that connecting my iPhone to the camera in order to review or download clips is a real faff. It doesn't connect easily and quite often doesn't maintain a connection so I have to start all over again. Frankly it's quicker to pop the SD card from the device and go indoors and review the clips on a PC. This really shouldn't happen, and I'm amazed that the market leader can't sort this out.Speaking of SD cards, make sure that the card you buy (if you're not going to use the tiny one supplied) is a Class 10 speed card. I bought a very expensive 128Gb HD card that this dash cam just didn't like. It kept telling me that there was a problem and that it needed reformatting. It turns out that even though what I bought was a high-performance. high-speed card, it wasn't categorized as Class 10. I was obliged to buy a (cheaper, as it turns out) Class 10 card and there was no problem from then on.

Beware!
Beware! SD card that Thinkware try to sell you is hugely overpriced (128GB @ £99.99). Despite 2 requests, Thinkware refused to advise me of the SD card spec required for this dashcam. After reviewing this product on YouTube, I purchased a Samsung SD card @ est. £20 which works perfectly fine.

Poor upgrade
We have 3 Thinkware F770 units in use (all with rear cameras) and are very pleased, they have more than made up for their cost in providing video evidence. In one car we also have the Thinkware battery for recording while parked. When I saw the features of the Q800 I decided to upgrade. The unit uses less battery power and records at a higher resolution so perfect for the vehicle with the Thinkware battery. If connected to the internet (generally connected via your phone) it can also provide extra features such as reporting where the car is and allowing footage to be streamed. However,Whilst all the above is true, please note that higher resolution means larger file sizes, and so while it can record for a longer time in parking mode you can only record fewer files before overwriting occurs, in other words it records for a longer period but holds less footage (compared to the F770) and yes I know I can buy a bigger card but the comparison is the same and Thinkware have poor formatting options leaving you even less room for recordings. You can’t just swap units, the rear cameras are different (despite the same specification and size you have to go through the process of exchanging the rear camera and cable)The internet features are a waste of time for us, it doesn’t automatically pair when you get in and you soon forget to make the connection (it uses wi-fi not Bluetooth so a drain on the phone too). The leads stick out on the right side of the unit, most drivers in the UK will place this unit to the right of centre on the windscreen, thus placing the lens closest to the centre. This means the leads stick out on the right and are unsightly (the F770 has leads on the same side as the lens and the plugs are hidden in a compartment with the leads behind the rear-view mirror). But the main reason for such a low rating and the reason I sent the unit back is the absolutely awful picture quality. The video is indeed recorded at 2K but in terms of quality and definition the F770 is by far better. In summary, none of the new features were of use, internet connection was a pain, design layout was poor, large video files meant less history and dreadful video quality. It’s a shame, the build quality is good, and video in parking mode is smoother than the F770 (but only because it records an extra frame per second), dimensions are about the same as the F770 and the buttons are a better layout. If you are not upgrading from the F770 and the internet features appeal then maybe this is the unit for you, for us it was a poor option.

This is a very good camera
This camera is very good quality compared to the other 2 I have. Recently it witnessed an accident at night and I'd still got my old camera on the car two. I compared them. My old one was no good at all at night, but this one caught the accident well. It's now with the insurance company. It's not the cheapest but worth the extra money.
